Scarlet Audio

I know this has been discussed elsewhere, somewhere.. but anyway..

Audio is not my strong side..

1. What microphone can I connect to the Scarlet?

- or do I have to get one of those mics with battery power?

2. And what jack-XLR cable should i get?

I have that mic. It will not work unless you power it. The camera in the current firmware doesn't have phantom power. You will need a mixer with phantom power.
Cable would be an XLR to Mini (to run from the mixer to the camera)

I can recommend the Rode NTG2. The mic has phantom and battery power (Battery 1.5V alkaline or phantom 48 V). Will use it later with an Woodencamera A-Box (XLR).

If you don't have an A-Box, You'll need this cable

Make sure the cable is BALANCED or you will short the audio and then come back to the forums complaining that the audio on your Scarlet sucks.
