  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just wanted to start this thread in order to get some info around the forum.
I'm reading many informations regarding camera starting to ship or shipped to people around the world especially in the US but Europe which seems to be delayed. Therefore It should be nice to have here people from Europe giving their feedback and sharing their info regarding possible shipping progress or email coming from RED UK...
We all know that they are pretty slammed ... I understand that, I'm not here to complain about anything.

What I mean is it should be nice to have a place where we can notice that things are moving a little bit in Europe and how they are progressing
For now, we have no camera shipped from RED UK at all since November 17th, Ti PL mount or Al Canon Mount and no one can give us any details regarding the start of Scarlet shipping in Europe

Let's share this here

RED UK is overwhelmed and slammed and I think it could be nice to share all info we have in order to help them not being harassed by the main question: When ?

INFOS from what I have gathered around the forum:
January 5th 2012

- Scarlet Delay between delivery in US and delivery in Europe more than a month of delay)
- Not the same price between US and Europe due to different Taxes, custom, VAT and handling fees
- PL Mount will be delivered first
- No delivery date can be given at that time
- Some european customers has been contacted regarding Scarlet Shipping, things are moving
- One Scarlet has been delivered in Germany from RED UK SO 16XX
- PANAVISION France might have received their SCARLETS
- Scarlet "available" accessories are held until Scarlet ships but if it is in backorder you can ask to ship separately or all together (that will change the shipping date)
- RED US added another Bomb squad soldier to RED UK in order to help them
- No more news from RED UK since their return January 3rd
 
Alan Piper can't confirm any receiving date at the moment.
Hope we can have our in January.

Rumping production of Scarlet-X could be done during January - February timeframe???!!!
 
ON 1953 4 Nov

RED Europe contacted me last week regarding an additional order that I'd placed for more REDVolts (ON 5273). RED Europe are holding this order for me until Scarlet ships, but like everyone else I was told there was no estimate on when that would be. All along I've been saying that if I get it by March I'll be happy, but this is RED so anything can happen!
 
The practical problem we are faced with is, that from dec 1 we have the money in our bank account, and that it is melting away bit by bit each day already...
I think you all know how it is.

I'd love to get rid of the money (which is on loan) so that i can get my financial planning for 2012 on track.
I don't mind getting the Scarlet some time next year, but i'd like to pay a.s.a.p.

I was told by a EU rep, that no estimate could be given because i ordered "as late as nov. 7th"...
 
if it can help you to wait they told me the same ...
and I ordered 45 minutes after announcement and I'm probably one of the first who ordered the PL Mount in Europe.
 
Martin,

You can pay your money into your account with RED any time you like. email Alan Piper at RED Europe and he will give you bank account details for the transfer. If you reference it with your customer number the money will be credited to your account and will sit there until your order is fulfilled. At least you won't spend it on anything unimportant like food or the children's schooling!

I top up my account all the time to cover outstanding orders.

Good luck with your Scarlet. I am sure you will enjoy it.

So, does anybody know exactly how it will work for people in europe outside UK? They will call or send an email.
Will they ask for the global price at once (order price + VAT + shipping)?
Do we have to pay the VAT to fedex or to any shipping company that they use?
what shipping price can we expect for a package? 50€? 100€? 400€?
 
Look into your account, the price should already be converted to UKP. Thats what you'll have to pay (+shipping), no extra VAT or additional costs if you're in the EU. Thats the last info i've read somewhere here. Correct me if i'm wrong.

RED Europe is not ignoring you guys.
Scarlet proved more popular than even we had imagined :-)
The process is this;
You guys all placed your orders on-line and received a confirmation e-mail - as Brent has said in a another thread, that is your confirmation e-mail.
It's a little confusing because it is in Dollars I agree, but you can see the GBP amount if you check your account.
We will send a UK pro forma invoice when we get to your order in the line - I would be happy to send that pro forma out immediately, but we really are very busy.
We were busy before Scarlet launched...we simply cannot just send out pro formas for every order which we have received.
As Scarlet starts to ship, and it will, very soon, we will send out the UK invoice and request payment, shipping instructions etc
It would help us if those pressing questions are checked for answers in our FAQ area at RED.com before the e-mail is fired out.

Be patient with us, we will deliver.

That would be fantastic, but I'm pretty sure that the VAT is excluded from the account price. I've got 9645£ in my account for the 14000$ package. that's a bit more than 15000$. VAT in UK, france, is 20%. I would love them to have decreased a bit the price to be nice with us, but i doubt it's the case as the initial price is already nice :)
But you're right, I've read that somewhere too.
For those who have a VAT number that's a different story.

You know I'm shooting a short film in a week with two well known french actors...
I had a nice gunfight scene (5 days of shooting) and I really wanted to shoot it with the Scarlet therefore I moved this scene to mid-January just in order to be able to do it with the Scarlet ... hehe ...
who is the fan here ?? huh
 
Great news from Alan - and I don't think anyone seriously thought that Red Europe was ignoring us ;)

Looking forward to getting the final invoice so I can be one less order they need to deal with ;)
 
things seem to really move around the world and the US... it's really a pleasure to see that.
Have you guys manage to notice any signs from RED UK ?
