With Nikon Mount, will the Scarlet 2/3 (body only) and the Scarlet S35 be able to use Nikon DX lenses? The DX lenses are the ones that only can be used on the non-full frame Nikon cameras (or FF in DX mode).

Red's MX S35 sensor is 35 x 15 and the DX seem to capture 24 x 16 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_DX_format) so it may not work for S35.

But the MX 2/3 is 10.1 x 5.35, so it seems like it would.

Any other info I'm not aware of?

Yes, but you will be limited for wide angle options as the crop factor is about 2.5. You would need a 7mm lens on 2/3" Scarlet to match the FOV of an 18mm lens on a DX format camera for example.

They should work fine for S35, but may not cover the full 5k resolution without vignetting. Shooting at 4k or quad HD would work fine.

I though the crop factor was 4.25 or somewhere closer to that not 2.5 so a 10mm would be roughly a 40mm

They'll definitely work on the 2/3" Scarlet since that is much smaller than APS 24x16. Usually lenses are built with a little extra room around the edges so you don't get the lower-quality, more-likely-to-have-distortion very corners of the glass, so the DX lenses might cover the full 30x15 S35 Scarlet. Can't be sure though. They'd cover 4K windowed mode and lower for sure, I'd think.

This gets discussed in a new thread about every 2 weeks...

Actually the Mysterium-X S35 sensor is 30x15mm and when recording 5K (which is 2:1), the active sensor area is 27.65mm x 13.83mm. That requires an image circle of about 31mm to cover it. So some wide angle DX format lenses may vignette a bit. Most DX format lenses are designed to cover a 30mm (or slightly larger) image circle as a basic minimum.

Mysterium-X 2/3" 3K should have an active recording area of 10.13mm x 5.70mm -- assuming the photosite size is still 3.3um.
