I'm not hiding guys - As Brent has already said, we are all pretty slammed since the Scarlet order book opened a couple of weeks back;
I would love to be able to answer all of your calls personally, especially yours Meddy, but that's simply not possible. 'Usual' RED business was pretty well busy before the Scarlet launch and continues to be so.
We are looking after all those existing customers and bringing in all the new ones as best as we are able to.
Many of the questions we are asked have answers already at RED.com - just wander around the FAQs there.
If you are an EU based customer and want to know what the final UK prices are before we get back to you with pro-formas, just take a look at your order on account - UK prices are shown there.
EPIC-X cameras are shipping at a phenomenal rate and Scarlet will catch up soon enough.
Hang in there.....
Alan.
(*cough* BT *cough*)From a couple of emails (the time stamp) Alan has answered recently I can see those guys are works all hours of 'every' day of the week... They are a top team and always deliver the best customer service... (unlike the rest of the Uk;-)

£8740 would become £10488 with UK's 20% VAT, so I'm pretty certain the price shown on the order page only includes freight and import duty to the UK. VAT and shipping in EU will likely be added to that price.I hope VAT is already included in the £ price they have put on all european orders, otherwise they use one strange method of converting dollars into pounds.
Scarlet X Al Canon package = $ 14015 in british sterling on the 3ed of November when I ordered was around £ 8740 (the exchange rate was at 1.60338 on the 3rd of November), however on my order I'm being charged almost £1000 more = £ 9670
Yup, freight and import duty included in the cost you see on the order...£8740 would become £10488 with UK's 20% VAT, so I'm pretty certain the price shown on the order page only includes freight and import duty to the UK. VAT and shipping in EU will likely be added to that price.
Isn't it a mistake to work out the VAT based on £9580? Because I don't think that you pay VAT on import duty and delivery.
As such, you'd be paying 20% on the (around about) £8740 value of the product being brought in?
VAT is being calculated on the total sum of product price, shipping and import duty, not just on the product itself.
VAT is being calculated on the total sum of product price, shipping and import duty, not just on the product itself.
Yep, I confirm that.
Ok thanks for clearing that up, now then I should probably look into vat registering my company haha
