  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet and Europe ... lack of infos

I'm trying to reach Alan Piper to get some info... in vain. I finally reached someone in England today, the discussion was quite fast, he seemed to be really annoyed and overwhelmed, I can understand that ...
However I have numerous questions that deserve to be answered. I looked at the forum and everyone is talking about US shipping and sometime world Shipping but not really RED UK and the link with European shipping
I know that is quite different...

Any chance to get some info regarding the beginning of European Shipping from RED UK ?..
Can we expect an european getting a Scarlet-X soon ?..
Or maybe I'm wrong and you need to fulfill Us orders first before switching to the rest of the world ?

I Tried to get some info from Alan regarding European ordering procedures but he must be pretty slammed right now as he is unreachable even by phone...
I Don't want to know if I will receive my camera soon as a crazy guy... I'm ok, I'm able to wait anyway ....
But everyone here is speaking about US shipping and all those steps
it would be nice to know how the situation will evolve far away from california at RED UK... Do we have to pay a deposit too or full payment ... etc ...

The only thing I know is from Brent:

1- it will be a slight delay between Europe and US
2- we will have to wait until RED UK is ready to ship
3- You said that there is some Scarlet Stocked in UK and Alan should have to bring more cam depending on how much order has to be proceed in UK

In fact, it would be nice to see some Scarlet movement around europe too. That would be fair

Today I also ordered an EPIC-X Stage 3,5 with almost 30 000$ of accessories alone... What I mean is I'm spending such amount with remaining questions that's not fair.
I would have wanted to get some more infos regarding modules that are coming and price... the guy I reached was not as patient as Alan (you can understand that I'm not so fluent in English, sorry about that) and he seemed to have HuGE things to do.
I wanted to know, as QUAD REDVOLT module is not available, when I will be able to order it same the I/O Module and also prices,...
It takes time to get the money and it's easier for me to know the correct price.
I wanted to know also many things such as when I'm going to pay and how much I have to pay for the deposit plus the stocked item...

I know that everyone is slammed by everything right now at RED, I can understand that, but don't let us down ... here in Europe
because this is what I feel when I call and send email...

No need to flame and very valid. You bet Alan is slammed. We just sent one of our best BOMB SQUAD guys from RED US to RED UK to help stem the tide. He just landed last weekend, so give him a few days to get a process down with Alan :)

This is great news Brent. Alan and the team here in RED Europe are fantastic. I guess Alan will welcome the extra help! :))

Looking forward to ordering my stage 4 EPIC-X soon :))

I agree regarding Alan he is really amazing when taking care of orders and also very helpful.

Hope everything will be cleared soon and we will able to see some movement coming from Europe and UK
 
Alans not ignoring you. I was in the office at Red Europe today and it was a hive of activity as they were trying to get stuff out and deal with a ton of admin stuff and deal with pesky people like me coming in off the street to collect gear. I had to climb over boxes of stock to get to Alans desk. It's a busy time for them but I heard a whisper in the office that they hope to get some European Scarlets out the door before Xmas.

I posted an order about 2 weeks ago.
The guy on the phone (who was very nice) told me it might take 2 to 3 mounth to get the Scarlet.
For Europe you place your order online on the red site , it bypasses the payment and they contact you later for the payment.
I was still waiting to pay for the deposit so I called back (they are very easy to get odviously on working hours) my order was fine and he told me that I just might just have to pay when the camera is ready.
 
Alexandre, so basically, you'll pay the full price when your Scarlet ships ? No deposit ?

I ordered my Scarlet yesterday (on red.com) and got my confirmation e-mail, but I didn't pay the deposit at any time... Like everyone else, I'd like to be sure that I'm paying the 2011 price...

Can someone confirm, please ?

I have the same doubt.
But, I think that any delay will not increase the price... We have already placed orders. and my money is "ready" for RED.
Therefore, time should stop at that date... And also the price.

Let's not base delivery timelines on rumors or third-hand knowledge. Or post my PMs on REDUSER. No harm in this message, but the "private" in "private message" means between the two parties.

That being said, I posted in another thread that depending on Alan's stock levels (versus what needs to come from USA to fulfill) at any given time, there can be a few extra days of processing time on orders via REL. We sent in one of our best BOMB SQUAD reps to lend a hand and he is already making headway. Delivering "some European Scarlets out the door before Xmas" is extremely pessimistic. I suspect some people in the EU have already been contacted by RED EUROPE on their SCARLETS, actually.

Ah that's a very nice info thank you ! Could be nice to get one of them here in the forum and have his experience...
No harm regarding all other people around the world but It would be reassuring to see some movement around EU

That is great to hear Brent; that some Europeans might be getting notification of scarlet shipping soon.

I am in the UK and ordered early, soon after the announcement on the 3rd. I have not been asked so far to place a deposit. I am cool with waiting, and it seems perhaps not hearing from Red UK until the full amount needs to be paid prior to shipping.
