  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet and Epic BUILD 4 BETA

It gives you an option of 2,4,8,16 frames...don't quote me, I'm blackshading right now can't verify that. The more frames you sample the less fps you can shoot. 2 = 15 max at 4k scarlet and halves the fps each increment

Damn... maybe the Epic can do 24?

Whats an in camera speed ramp? is that the same thing as a boost? i'd love to have short speed bursts that can run higher then the kinds of rates we get at continuous shooting, and like previously mentioned full fans would be fine by me if that means i can get short bursts at higher fps... if that is not currently in this build would this be a possibility at some point? id post some cool skateboard stuff if you do it... :yesnod:

Ramping is when you change frame rates during a shot without cutting. For example starting a shot at 24fps and then at a set time changing the frame rate to 48fps (or whatever) to get slow motion.

I'm guessing it can if you choose 2 or 4, but I think this was made for long exposure timelapse.

Why would a long exposure timelapse need advanced noise reduction...? Long exposure by nature lets in more light, seems like the wrong area to apply noise-reduction science...

Brian, yes!!! I was thinking the same thing for speed ramping - skateboarding!

Woot!!!!

(Can't believe I just wooted, only wish I was the first reply.)

I see. But... the Epic is a motion camera! Leave timelapse to the DSLR's... having an awesome noise reduction feature on the Epic limited to timelapse feels like such a tease.

Only my opinion of course, I don't shoot timelapse and have frequently wished for more noise reduction shooting at night.

Doesn't feel like a tease at all to me. I can't wait to shoot some timelapse tests on my Scarlet :)

They said beta is not recommended for commercial use. What's a good estimate of time frame before they launch regular version that is fully robust and can be used with confidence on gigs?
