  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet and Epic BUILD 4 BETA

I see. But... the Epic is a motion camera! Leave timelapse to the DSLR's... having an awesome noise reduction feature on the Epic limited to timelapse feels like such a tease.

Only my opinion of course, I don't shoot timelapse and have frequently wished for more noise reduction shooting at night.

Well, it's a DSMC, so the goal is to be equally proficient and both. Of course, the stills side has lagged a bit behind the motion side thus far - but these new features show that it's gradually catching up.

Hello Jarred

Have any Nikon lenses been added to the new firmware? I use the Nikon 200-400 ver2 80% of the time we are shooting wildlife. If you need that lens to characterise it's specs I would gladly send mine to you for that purpose. Thanks

I'd say 100% of Epic/Scarlet owners shoot 24fps motion 95% of the time. But maybe I'm off..? Timescapes was awesome.

lol, I was at RSH about an hour before you guys made this release. I had a feeling I'd be away from my camera when you guys dropped the 4.0.

Can't wait to get home and load it up. Thanks for the hard work to get it out before the holiday break. This looks huge.

I don't know if this is news but the R90 is now on sale. This opens up lots of possibilities for different display installations... An essential tool for every Epic user! Will see if I can get the budget for one asap...Fantastic stuff Red Team!

Thank you for fine-tuning already existing features as well as adding new.
I really like the calibration time. Did you also improve the quality of the calibration, or is it about the same? (i.e. have you improved noise reduction with the calibration?)

its like getting socks for Christmas.

Greg.. if you are really comparing your Scarlet to a pair of socks, then please send your camera back to us.. we will give you back what you paid for it. That's just not cool.

Anyone know how to get the zoom control to move around?

Awesome build! Saving a bunch of black shade calibrations right now. And Vertical flip just in time for some fashion portraits I'll be doing in the New Year :) Thanks a million.

Question for Jarred... Those new Red Store goodies you talked about being released with the firmware, is that still on track? Or soon?
