  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet and Epic BUILD 4 BETA

"Selectable 1:1 Zoom".... is this a touch screen, zoom 1:1 where I touch OR is this the ability to, while recording, do a 1:1 zoom?

Can't wait to load this up.

A heart-felt thank you to the RED team. Happy Holidays.

I was going to wait until tomorrow to install this. Can't wait. Doing it now :)

Hahahaha.
Decided to leave the cam at the office because nothing's gonna happen right now... :-(

Looking foreward to check these things out!

Added internal frame averaging capability (advanced noise reduction)...

More details please....?!!? Is this like the Alexa blackshading that uses the excess sensor (at least I think that's how it works).

Also, great idea to release at christmas when no one's working-

YEEEEEEEESSSSS! thank you RED! Can't wait to use this!

Thank you Red team for all your hard work, this is absolutely fantastic. Happy holidays everyone, may we all have a great year ahead of us filled with health and happiness. Happy shooting.

Yes please more details on the Advanced Noise Reduction. I've already noticed that it kills my fps. is this more of a timelaps feature?

What's the max fps you can get with ANR turned on? I have a feeling it may be for long timelapse exposures.

i was soooooooooooo bummed at 6am this morning when i woke up to, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.... but now i am super glad that i lived through it, thanks RED.

My guess is that it samples the sensor in between recorded frames, which is why it reduces the FPS as it's technically capturing pixels between recorded frames and analyzing their black levels. If this is the case, it is potentially a huge deal (for me) as blackshading is always a bitch and never gets done especially at night which is when you need it the most because of the temperature change.

Just speculating here based on the limited info I've read as to how other cameras and the Epic works, would love some clarification.

I don't have my camera so if it knocks the FPS below 24 then... bummer.

Hey JL,
Just wanted to say a heart-felt thanks for all your and team REDs efforts. I can only imagine how much time and energy went into this new OS. Can't wait to dive in and will have some good opportunities to try it out over the holidays. I hope you and everyone else there can take a well deserved break. Thanks again, it is truly appreciated!
