  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet and Epic BUILD 4 BETA

anyone know if the monitor glitches which occur when going in&out 1:1 mode will ever be fixed?
Andreas, are this the same display issue I'm referring to?
This was with us even in previous versions...I got the idea it will never be fixed, maybe it's impossible to fix?
I'd really prefer a 1-2seconds of signal blackout (inside the video preview portion, up-down menu areas excluded) than these glitches...
it's not very clean and professional...just sayin'...
thanks!!

- Being able to record in 1:1 Zoom. Now it just jumps out.
- Being able to film zoomed out but it shows a little window that is magnified 1:1. You can set the size of this magnify window and also the size of it.

- Noise aware focus assist mode. The focus assist mode is amazing. However I wished that it could filter out noise. Right now it enhanches noise so it's 10 times stronger. Maybe the edge mode should only go and enhance the edges of objects stronger than 1 pixel. Since noise normally just 1 pixel they would not be enhanced much then.

Useful when you need PERFECT focus.
Best

The glitches look like the ones that occur when you switch resolutions and if i remember correctly it has already been said that recording while in 1:1 zoom isn't possible to do. Maybe the zoom-mode is more like switching to a cropped resolution / area of the sensor, hence the current restrictions.

That was my guess too. I just hope they find a way to make the switch between normal and 1:1 views much faster. Hopefully they took this into account when designing the new ASICS for the Dragon sensor !

Can anyone confirm if the analog audio is gone in the beta build? i've been using a cheap little condenser mic as a scratch audio track for the past year. i like the new menus and control interface with the beta build but now my mic does nothing. i backed up to release build 3.3.15 and i have no problems with my mic.

Try it set on UNBALANCED rather than BALANCED.

Red Team: Is it possible to add a PLAY ALL CLIPS feature on the newer firmwares?

Some time we need to play all material without having to play each individual clip

(maybe this exists on the new beta firmware, please correct me and delete thread if I'm wrong)

Also, if possible :) the window showing the clips is rather tricky to use, I end up using my "pinkie" (LOL I had to google this name!) finger in an effort to pinch the right clip, which by the way could have a thumbnail picture or something: it´s a confusing cascade of numbers and one can not respond in an efficient manner when many are waiting staring at the screen. This is the part where it gets a little embarrassing...of course PLAY ALL CLIPS would be a grear feature to add

I think it would also be helpful for those that use Hyperdeck Shuttle or other devices where you can do real time transcoding AFTER correcting in RedCine-X....anyone?

It's a possibility. We'll look into adding it as an option.

In this new build is there not the ability to toggle HDMI on/Off? Not sure where that went. I'm not getting any HDMI output so I figured it may be turned off but I can't find that menu anymore.

There is no user option to disable the HDMI port. Do you have the HDMI port set to the same frequency and refresh rate that worked with that particular monitor in previous builds?

Im having the same issue but intermittent.

Im usign the same setup before the update and I can get the HDMI to work maybe once every three to four tries.

Im now at the point of just flipping any switch just to see what works.

I just realized I busted the HDMI port on my TV Logic LCD. Arghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
They're so delicate.... or maybe I'm just a brute! In any case, I don't have a wireless directors monitor anymore :(

When repeatedly using playback mode, about 40% of the time when returning back to live view, the HDSDI output will get scrambled. We have to go to monitor control and change the setting for the output hz either to 23.98 or auto (interchangeably) to get an image again.

Anyone else experience this?

So i'm having a pretty constantly reoccurring problem in the current build. Pretty much, any time I want to change ISO or view RAW, I have to go through a process. Example, say I want to change my ISO from 500 to 1000. First I need to change my ISO, no visual feedback on camera, ISO changes, but image does not get brighter. Then I need to zoom 1:1, wait for that to load up, Usually at this point ISO adjusts to 1000 and image is brighter. Then I can Zoom back out to normal, and ISO is changed, unless it's not right and I need to adjust it more, then I go through the process all over again. Same with viewing RAW, except that when I click RAW I get a very dark/contrasty slightly green image, until I view 1:1 again and back out.
Not a deal breaker on the camera, just kind of a pain in the ass. Almost enough that I may be going back to the previous release build until this is sorted out, unless any one has another suggestion.

Did your TVlogic take a long time to recognize the Scarlet's HDMI signal? Mine does...

Same thing happening on our camera.
I guess we need to wait for the release version when all these bugs will be sorted out.

1:1 User Selectable zoom - I'm probably waay too stupid - but how can we move this "zoom spot" across the frame? Sure it is movable - otherwise what is "User Selectable" :) Switching to zoom still not seamless, lots of "jerky interface malfunction"
Especially if you press REC in 1:1 (oh boy) - camera just stuck for 5-6 seconds before starts recording.
Dreaming about that day when zoom window will automatically pops-up as small overlay in the centre of the monitor when we rotate lens barrel to change focus :) (like on some cheap DSLR's haha)
