Hi all,

I have the Peli 1510 with dividers for when I'm transporting a bunh of kit but also need something for run and gunning with the camera - prebuilt with LCD, shoulder mount and mattebox attached where you can just pull it out of the bag and start shooting.

Bag chat on Reduser seems to be over a year old and so I wondered if there were any new choices out there. The Kata OMB-75 looked like a good option but I see that's discontinued now, so what are other people using as a run & gun Epic/Scarlet bag?

I'm also looking for a bag since I'll be travelling a lot this year. I'm probably going to pull the trigger on this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/686597-REG/Petrol_PC003.html

That's a handsome looking bag Jason, I'm also curious to what people are using for their rigs. I'm looking for something to carry around a bare bones Scarlet setup - so close to pulling the trigger on an Airport Accelerator but not totally sold on the backpack route. Will be curious to see what people are using and recommend.

I've inspected the bag in person and it's pretty solid with quality materials. My only concern is I might not have enough room for lenses/batteries. I currently have a backpack now, but I definitely can't fit a ready-to-go scarlet set up in it.

I had pretty much the same needs so I picked up a BP1500 from Calumet (http://www.calumetphoto.com/eng/product/calumet_bp1500_large_backpack/rm2184) a few months ago on sale for about $100. It's surprisingly solid, is carry-on sized, and can fit a basic Scarlet kit (disassembled) with batteries, lenses, a/c adapter, media, screen, handles, REDmag reader, cables, tools, etc., AND a DSLR kit on top of that, and I've still got outside pockets left over. You could easily fit a ready-to-go kit if you rearrange the dividers in there and you'll still have room for some extras. Of course makes it pretty heavy, but the bag has hip straps which help distribute the wait appropriately. I absolutely recommend it if you can find it cheap, and probably even for full price. Great bag.

Jason that petrol bags looks good but too small to fit anything to shoot with IMO!

Photos would be great as specifically looking for bags with the camera already assembled and ready to go. Cinebags CB40 looks like a maybe - probably could fit with mattebox attached too.

The Petrol Red One bag might be configured in a way to work with fully built Scarlet/Epic.

I have a porta-brace DV3R. You can have a scarlet, Brick on the back, Side Handle and 5.6" LCD and a canon lens. But you'll probably have to take the monitor off if you want to be able to zip up the bag. I would go next size up if I had it to do over again.
My advice is to configure the camera exactly how you want it in the small case then find a case with the right size internal dimensions.
Cheers.

tbh this thread was about having a bag for run and gun shooting with a preconfigured Epic/Scarlet.

I'd always use the Peli 1510 for international travel as it's built like a tank and is carry on

I'm the same boat as Ben, Ive got a pelican for travel but when I'm moving around locations or something like that Ive been looking for a solid bag or case to carry an assembled scarlet.

Another great option : the ROADIE II HDSLR/VIDEO SHOULDER BAG
