  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet + Adobe

One palm here, I just decided to leave Fcp.

I'm still in FCP 7 at the moment. I'm making the transition for some work once my camera gets here for personal work. Elsewhere my place of work will be in FCP 7 for another year until there license is up.

I dropped FCP faster than a drunk girl in stilettos.
I took advantage of their 50% discount SWITCH code and never looked back! I think even a full price its an awesome piece of kit that (I find) is superior to FCP & Sony Vegas

Started learning FCP X ... For basic editing it's amazing love interface & design ... Call me stupid but believe me FCP x is great for beginners & people who love some change

now that PP has the ability to create a master clip out of unrelated A/V tracks, I'm all in and very stoked to have left Mac-land long ago.. PC's are just so dang cost effective..

What codec do you use for converting red files and output instead of ProRes?

What do you love about the Interface and Design of it? That was the worst for me...Have they said anything about bringing in the ability to work with .r3d's?

You could always build a Hackintosh Kalani

I'm looking into that :)

I would go avid before PP =)

Do you mind me asking why you love FCP X so much? I've played with it a little and am trying to find good things in it.

I found the opposite. I came from FCP 7, which I still use at work, and am going into Premiere Pro and have no problems with it. The only thing I've found is that it isn't as blatantly set up and ready to go. You seem to have more control over your overall project as well as far as settings and preferences go.

In FCP X I felt like I was in handcuffs and my project was already edited for me...I'd be curious to see why people like about it as I'm trying to dig more into it and see it's benefits.

You can edit Premiere Pro on a Mac, you know.

To each there own, the way you feel about PP is the way I feel about Final Cut pro, but it's ok ppl like different things and that is what makes us individuals. PP is just not for us we tried and didn't like it we felt handcuffed =( like I said ppl just like different things =)

I use PPro (the whole CS5.5 Production Premium in fact) and I like it well enough. Hardware acceleration is nice, Dynamic Link is nice. It's also nice that you're not sentenced to a platform like for instance with FCP (Mac) or Sony Vegas (PC).
