Verrry interesting when you take into consideration Jim's "now Sony has really p---ed me off" message a few months ago. I remember is as happening right in the middle of the biggest part of the HD/Bluray debates.

Did anyone else notice that this was one of the latest trademark apps filed? On the 29th Feb 2008.

Trademark strategy often involves protecting future products. In other words, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a trademark application for Scarlet 4K sometime in the future. Although that might not be possible for some years, they'll want to own the trademark when it possible and they pull it off. I'm not saying we won't see a Scarlet 3k at NAB, just saying it may not be till NAB 2011 or something.
