  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet 3.2.16 5k HD?

It's a mistake, the changelog isn't right, probably just copied from EPIC, without removing the stuff that is not included in Scarlet's firmware.
 
The 5kWS should be possible on the scarlet or no? to me that would be less data than 4k or am I wrong. That would end all the talk about scarlet being bought up by consumer cameras... since they do not shoot 5000 pixels in width :)

Edit: even if it was more narrow than 1.41 aspect I think most scarlet users would love to see the full with in 24/25 frames per second.

Sure, 5k WS is possible, but it's not less data than 4k. Aspect ratio of 5k WS is 2.4:1.
5kWS is 5120*2134=10926080 and 4k is 4096*2160=8847360

So, don't expect 5kWS with 24fps on Scarlet. If we get that resolution, maybe it would come with something like 15-19 fps, who knows. ;)
If it's just about pixel-count we could get 19fps, but don't forget, Jim and others always said, it's not just the encoding-power, there are more parts with influence on Scarlet's limits...
