Let's start the countdown clock!

Pick an official shipping date for the 2/3 Fixed and show your Scarlet inner-genius!

I got dibbs on Jan 1, 2011...

Need 3 prediction dates:

1. Date first fixed SCARLET ships to earliest adopters (Serial Numbers 07-99).
2. Date first fixed SCARLET ships to any RED owner that received their camera after January 1, 2009.
3. Date first fixed SCARLET ships to someone who never owned a RED.

This should be posted directly into the error thread :-)

Let them decide their own calendar. When you're speaking about hypothetical dates you can be lobbying for a wrong cause. Even towards to a later date than sooner, got it? ;-) Scarlet 2/3" release is due before end of summer as of today. Summer of 2010.

Can you pick a date for the 3rd Option- a shipping date for someone who never owned a RED?

I am trying to plan for a purchase, and any clarity or insight would prove immensely helpful, even if it is pure speculation at this point, which is fine by me...

Waste of time. Go shoot something.

I don't understand Terry... What do you waste with your time shooting with while waiting for Scarlet?

or

Are you an NRA member, what's in season this time of year?

or

Are you saying I am wasting my time waiting for my Scarlet, or should I be waiting for another camera?

I think he just means don't sit around the house waiting for the announcement, get outside!

We could start the count to infinity in primes thread while we wait.

I'll start: 1

WOW dude i thought there had been an announcment and there was now a release date! DANG IT ALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! silly thread

This thread is apparently all we're up to these days. I expect there to be more like it in the coming weeks

This thread only has real interest if this an offer of parimutuel betting. Otherwise....

Just Relax...

Just Relax...

I'll be shooting "HD Florida Beaches 2" on my EX1 starting May 1st for a few weeks. I'm saving my "HD Caribbean Beaches 2" till next year for Scarlett.

Like some have said before, go shoot with what you got... buy RED when RED is "R.E.D.D.Y." :violin: Note, when RED 1 wasn't "R.E.D.D.Y." with my #217 - no sound - I passed and bought my Sony EX-1 and shot. Now, RED is getting ready for what I had hoped the RED 1 was to be - smaller and modular like Scarlett (for under 20 pound carry on for foreign beach shoots), I can & can't wait.

Kinda feels like waiting for Apple to Ripen and release a new desktop, FCP, and real Blu-Ray authoring for replication... we'll only know when its "R.E.D.D.Y." ;-)

I love RED and Apple but the rule still stands - when you got a job go with what is available, that works, and is affordable. Make some money now, so you can buy your dreams later. I'm still waiting for upgrades from both companies... how much longer??? Depends on the competition. :001_huh:

I might switch back to Avid from FCP... and goto laptop PCs with USB 3s, for faster file transfers... not that I want to but because I may have to. :violin:

Today I shot 45 gorgeous minutes of stock Maui for this cool cat making "virtual" windows out of dual vertical plasmas. He's set it up so the image moves in relation to a sensor you carry on your body.. I eagerly await Scarlet but will run my Mark II into the ground in the meantime : ) So much joy in shooting and gaining real life experience.. To dwell over a release date is counter productive and frustrating to boot.. Get a t2i and have fun shooting a "trailer" for your masterpiece.. or your grandparents and their "stories".., music videos, mini docs.. just go shoot and have fun in the process : )
