  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet 2/3" Fixed @ CES

We are no longer making the 2.8" touchscreen.. it was impossible for any normal sized person to use.

Makes sense. Reducing the product line simplifies life for you guys a bit too I expect.

Looking good, thanks for the video Tonaci.

This i have waited to hear, 2.8 was to small for sure. Can you post a still of from the display.
The iphone video was to artifacty to read the menues etc.

This might be better, though I'm sure Jarred will post up a super hi res one for you guys later. heres a temp one of the scarlet menu:

Just fantastic news.

Any chance of Ted of getting over to London for the UK's major trade show of the year BVExpo 15-17th February Earls Court 2, would be great to see Scarlet in the wild.

If l could put my deposit down now l would Jarred.

Sound for run and gun, l know there's balanced mic with power in puts, but if your not going through an external audio deck can you control sound levels on the touch screen menu or do you need another module !

Jarred, is there a built-in microphone in the Scarlet? From what I recall not, but I know there are two mic inputs on the front of the body.

How easy is it to mount an external mic on the config with the 5" LCD on top we have seen in the two Tonaci videos?

I would love to see a picture or a video of such a config...

I think I will use the RED Arm provided with the LCD to put it on the side and I'll also put a top handle and a mic mount on the top. ;)

Not sure that the prototype can record sound yet btw.

Ted! Stop by our booth. I promise you won't regret it! South Hall 2 Booth 26735 NxtGenTV / The Illusion Factory

If not, where might I find you?

Thanks Tonaci, now I can see much better!
Hi res would be nice to rest the eyes on until actual camera footage arrives!

All good news. It is there and working. Now it is, probably, a short wait to see it in the Red shop. I guess, we should abandone the hope to have it in 4k capability though! But, it would be to much for the price I admit.

How do you access the guidelines for different croppings?
Zebra? Is it on menubutton onboard camera or can you control that from
This from the monitor aswell?

Can't wait to own this baby. This cam is THE indie cam. Affordable and everything integrated. Love it!!!

The (1) REDmote (2) a REDvolt battery/and travel charger (3) 2.8" LCD Touchscreen (4) and side CF module is what was last stated to be included with the Fixed Scarlet...for $5,750. Of course change happened/happens...

I can't wait to hear what comes in the final package. Here's hoping for the side grip! A bigger touchscreen is definitely welcome. Would love the option to upgrade to the RedMote Pro and SSD module as well.

Hopefully we will see some footage of the fixed after CES!

What an amazing post to wake up to!
A great day indeed...

Download and read the manual for Red One to get an idea of what the menus and controls are like. I am sure there are significant differences, but it will be very similar.
There are oodles of programmable buttons on the Redmote and side handle that can be assigned to all kinds of controls. The touch screen brings even more to the table.

Hey Ted, great to hear you are going to be at CES this year. Really wish I could make it being just a short 7 hour drive away. I would love to get my hands on a look at the fixed. Have a great show and I look forward to hearing and seeing more. See you at NAB I'm sure ;)
