  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet 2/3" Fixed @ CES

Yeah, that was early 2007, if I remember right, which I do not. Been here for 4 years, waiting on Scarlet. I have been looking for "hold-me-over-till-then" camera, and I seriously cannot pull the trigger. There is no camera that I find acceptable for less than $10,000, let alone in the < Scarlet price category. The GH13 is close to acceptable, however.

Yeah, you and me both. I sold a JVC GY-HD100U with a Firestore drive about 18 months ago. Anything I've had to shoot since then I've done with 16mm thinking, "Hey, it should be right around the corner now."

First time I've ever done this wait-and-see thing. Of course I'm not exactly swamped with gigs right now, so it's not the end of the world. I've had kind of an imposed time-out because of elderly family issues for the last couple of years.

Ditto. Nothing really compelling under $10k. Can't afford to dump cash in something temporary either. Still playing with my GL2. Had a shot opportunity for a nice closeup of a pileated woodpecker a couple of weekends ago, but it was a rainy and humid day, so instant head clog on the tape. No footy. AUUGH! I HATE TAPE!

18-144 in S35 terms if that helps too...

Still amazing to, having a great piece of glass (red quality) with all this room (in term of focal lenght and stops). 8X zoom didn't quite sink into me enough, in terms of the space you'll have (from wide to close). I could easly life with a fixed lens when it is premium one whith enough focal leght options. It looks like it's going to be (as seeing the clips) at leased zeiss cp2 quality. What will sell it for me even a bit more than the great hdr option.
If I would need more I would be on higher budget, and rent and hire one of you guys.

Thanks for clearing it up!!

So I probably missed this somewhere, but I remember it being mentioned.
Is there any form of OIS in the fixed lens Scarlet?

Can't wait till I'm out of college and can have a job to save up for one.
