The following user http://www.reduser.net/forum/member.php?150868-juliansmith replied to my post claiming that he has the DSMC fan upgrade kit for sale. He presented an invoice, and I've sent a wire transfer ($450USD) as per his request. Since then, i never heard back from him. He is a long time member, registered since 2012; therefore I didn't hesitate to make a payment. I am working with my bank right now, trying to identify the account holder- who received the money. If you've been in the similar situation, please share with me how you handled it. I've contacted website admin, but he's reluctant to do anything. He replied to my first message but ignored the second one.

Thank you!

How long has he been MIA? Considering he's been a user for a long time and $450 isn't typically a large amount for a scam (usually 5k-10k is typical target money) he may just have gotten caught up in something. Give it some time if it hasn't been 48-72 hours.

Unfortunately I got a message from this same guy, juliansmith. He reached out to me saying he had a 7" Brite Monitor for sale for $2600 (I posted a WTB in the marketplace). His correspondence seemed sketchy... all details of what the transaction would look like, no details about the actual product/condition. He also had zero posts. So I ignored it... but seems he is definitely scamming. I'm sorry Andrey! Buyers beware.

I've waited long enough. The payment was made on May 27th. It takes 3-5 days to clear it the longest. usually it clears within 48hrs. I am sure he already put me on ignore list. He stopped correspondence long time ago.

Hi Ben,
I've already reported the issue to the admin. He'll help me out. If you report you incident too, the admin will delete his account for sure. Thank you

I've contacted admin several time regarding this situation. The profile of juliansmith is still active. I am wonder why it hasn't been removed? ?

You can find CJ Wilson on Facebook group Red Camera. He had a box of fans, all going around 100$ (or even less).

Sorry to hear about the scam. Don't ever do a direct wire transfer - it's 100% non-refundable.

I guess this scam issue is really something to look at, I thought this site don't have such, I had same encounter in some other photography forum, wow nowhere is safe after all.

Rather ironic. Joseph Turner been hoping to hear back from you after my unsecured venmo deposit. My request for a refund was declined by the account you used. And seeing your other posts on reduser and other forums makes me uneasy. Can I get an update
