  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

And honestly since I did leaved outside LA before, I don't want to do that this time around as i wish to stay as close to the action as possible and not have to spend hours cut on traffic every day I want to or need to be in LA.

Every one in LA knows that some of the most important connections are made at those private parties...

.. So, since I am coming back to LA, and my house is gone...

I was thinking that I would either rent a small place, or, in respect to the above stated, it would be cool to get a very selective small group of RU's to move in together in a very nice big House in LA area, were instead of each renting a small house or apartment, we would together rent a BIG nice house, Hollywood style, which could well serve all our collective purposes as to be able to entertain and allow to have those parties that would otherwise be impossible to have individually in a smaller place!!

Rules will have to be firm and clear as to insure that there is a proper environment for each one leaving in the house, especially giving my condition.


No Drugs

No Smoking in the house.

No Pets


After that, we'll entertain weekend parties, and any type of events allowed and afforded by the house chosen, always with in respect of each other's and our guests, will make this a fantastic opportunity for the few, while also encompassing a small group of talent in one place to help each other's out with our individual projects when possible, and not in conflict with our own individual projects, responsibilities and necessities.

Such a house we'll have the latest in entertainment technology, 4k viewing system of course, and all our individual gear to top, which of course does not means it is public property, but it is there to help each other out when possible.


The key, will be to get this small and selected group of RU's to be of a common goal so to always go hand on hand with what we'll like to do in the house and outside, and always be of help to each other and support each other and not be a burden or in the way of each other's dreams and goals.

Let's hear your tough and see if there is a small group of us that can be put together to do this.
 
Love the idea! I guess it depends how many people would be able to come together and how much it would cost per person. I've been considering getting a really tiny place in LA but this sounds pretty good too! Not sure I'd be able to swing it off the bat, but definitely want to see how this progresses.

Well Jarek, what I was thinking is about 1k/1.5k+Split expenses per person, definitely no more then 5 individuals, which in turn will afford us up to 5k/7.5k Rental House, which could indeed get us something really nice, and make our presence in Hollywood a nice one, were any one would desire to come to our Parties, and not just for my Cooking... ;)

This of course is not to be all about Parties, even so they will play a fundamental role, but it is to be about us, a small selected group of RU's coming together in LA to share an adventure in the pursuit of our collective Dreams, while we share the love for the same tools and the Art of Filmmaking.

Most importantly this will afford us a situation that would otherwise not be possible, and make the expense worth while, and as most of us are always traveling around the world for work, having a nice place to always fall back to in LA could represent a huge advantage, I know it will for me.

If you do do this it would be really cool if you could get a place with a lawn big enough for a few large tents to put on a reduser conference. It sounds like a silly idea given that Red Studios has so much space, but I think a conference put on entirely by redusers would end up being a lot better.

I just went to the Teslive conference which took place at a hotel near the Tesla factory in Silicon Valley and it was put on entirely by teslamotorsclub.com forum members. The only involvement by the company was providing a space in the factory for a party Saturday night as well as having Elon Musk give the keynote speech. The fact that everyone there choose to be there is what made it special and work so well. A Friday-Sunday Red conference organized by redusers would be too cool.

Hmm...that might actually be reasonable. My interests are peaked... ;)
 
The idea of the BIG house, is exactly to encompass several things in to one, one of them been the possibility to host RU Workshop/Parties and such, so a large Back Yard will be a must.

Of course must have a very large leaving space area, and 5+ Bedrooms, so that we can have always an empty room for visits... ;)

The idea here is to try and put together something that would otherwise only possible if you were already a Celebrity... ;)


BTW: It seems I said "PARTY" a lot in this thread... That is no to because I want to turn such a House in to a nut house of drunken people every night, absolutely NOT!!


But because after having spent the last few years, (at exception of few travels) closed up indoors, I want to take advantage of the environment around us, and also because having your own Private Parties well organized, it does effectively give you more opportunities then trying and go to other people's parties, which we will go to them any ways, but at list such a place will afford us a different perspective of it all, and surely a different presence in the city.

But to be clear that our main goal here is never that to only have fun and party to meet people, but to congregate a small group of select RU's to allow for our creativity to come together and enjoy the support and knowledge of such group, which combined will afford us to bring to life just about any project!!
 
What about commitment options? Would there be one main tenant? You? and everyone else would pay you? Also commitment time. Say one person wants the place for 5 years, another only for one, another maybe for 6 months. How would that work? For instance maybe I can't do something like this this year, but maybe next year would be perfect for me. Maybe someone only wants it for this year and we switch the next. Yearly commitments? Monthly? This is seriously tempting stuff here.
 
Commitment will be indeed VERY flexible, as it is the nature of this idea to allow this House to evolve in time, and allow it's tenants to come and go as they please, within certain parameters, and I believe that, while there must be at list two or even three committed long term, meaning no less then ONE YEAR. there could easily be two or three Tenants which could go with a 6 Months commitment, and with space for even ONE month to month.

Trust me, finding tenants will not be a problem once this place is up and running and few months down the road the word goes out what it means leaving in this such a House, in fact I expect to have a Tenants to be Calendar of a waiting list longer then that of Santa... ;)


BTW, those that have been to my places have a clear idea of how I run a house and how I keep it.
 
dude if i were 10 years younger i would jump on this. lots of potential here to learn, shadow skilled people, and enjoy great company that really understands your business.
 
Didn't you try doing this a few years back? I'm pretty sure I remember everyone excited about this same idea...and I don't think it ever happened.
