  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RTmotion mk3 wireless follow focus

I think they are just really busy, Id try mailing them to ask anything you'd need to know.

I can only say as an RTMotion owner that have been very responsive pre and post sale.

Im not connected to RTMotion just very happy with the product and support.

I've observed a few changes on their website in recent days. They've updated the concept photos of their systems in the "Shop" section, as well as removed any reference to date availabaility (which previously cited 1st August). I really wish they'd at least make a user manual public. I won't hold it against them for now that their product keeps seeing delays. It's obviously not a development delay since many in this thread have already reported of recieving and using the systems already, and have posted images. Still, once they get on top of things, a more robust attempt at marketing on their part would be appreciated. The website is rather elusive of details of the products, relying on vague buzzwords like "auto-calibration", and "intelligent wireless". The home-page popup still states customer response from "Aug", which, judging by the other changes on the website, is an old message that got overlooked in the update process.

Jonas, an updated manual is available for download, i have a link for it as a customer, but i'm not sure how they would feel about me making the link public.

Thanks Robert, I appreciate the offer, but yes, you're right. I think for now I'll put my interest in the company/product on the backburner. Wait until they are ready. I'll have an attempt at contacting them in the near future, but the clear messages about their overwhelming workload are obvious enough. I'll approach it again in a few weeks. Cheers mate.

I am supposed to get mine in mid-October or so. I will be sure to post up a review once it comes in.

I hope that RTMotion post here soon. They have some really interesting features proposed and I hope that will be with us soon.

We are very happy with our first unit and hope to order a unit for 3D shortly.

Build quality is Excelent. Features work as they are supposed to. Motors are smooth, all be it took a firmware update to sort one small issue for us. Motor and Controler firmware was very easy to do.

On its first hire job the DP preferred RTMotion oner the Arri unit he was used to, and rebooked for a second shoot, can't complain about that.

It is early in the products life but what seen the seen so far gives us great optimism for what to expect in future.

hi Dave, have you tested the product on EPIC/Scarlet? my system still wont be able to run/stop on Epic/Scarlet, it works on Red One.

Yes, it interfaces via the Sync socket on Epic using the Lemo to BNC lead and switches the remote stop start.

I had used RT Motion MK3 "FIZ" Package 3-Motor , is great made, solid and comfortable, the motor is quite and smooth, fast response too, compare to other brand's handle size, Cost, I prefer order few more sets from RTMOTION...

Are you using the White connector and plugged in to Sync in. Set the Epic menu sync in to be System/Setup/GPIO Sync/ set to GPIO then High Action Record:Start Low Action: Record:Stop

Should then work.

Perry, that's a nice noga arm your sportin there, where you get it. ..?

My first receiver had a problem. But, they sent me a new one and it is working perfectly.

What's the sales price on the system you own?

I'm looking at the Bartech and Preston FF system, this one is in the back of my mind.

Thanks
