A Riser plate, with a bridge underneath for a sliding dovetail for DSMC².

Is there something like this ?

I remember Action Products announcing something similar.

A simple riser, usable with Arri dovetails. Perfect for 15mm lightweight setups. Anyone knows if another manufacturer have something in the works ?

they have one for Epic / Scarlet Dragon but not DSMC². But that's mostly what's needed !
I would prefer the 15mm LW to stay on the cameran, acting like a 15mm LW bridge and riser at the same time.

it is, but the fact the 15mm rods are separated from the body bothers me as I see it as a replacement for 19mm bridge. I want to have two setups. 19mm with PL, 15mm with EF, but with the same accessories.

The movcam is perfect for that purpose (that's why they call it LightWeight Studio), and it supposed to be release as they told me to contact a local distributor to buy it.

The movcam base for the FS7 works well with the Element technics dovetail that has the U shaped channel but not so well with the flatter style on the Wooden Camera dovetail.

I could be wrong, but from what I've heard, Movcam baseplates are not Arri-standard, but instead meant to work with their own dovetail.

oooh, that's good to know...

A definitive answer from Movcam about Arri standard compatibility :

Hi,

That is not correct.

All Movcam universal plates are Arri standard. That's why we call them universal.

it works with Smallrig also, though it's a bit more stiff because of the lower tolerance I guess. Perfectly usable though, as it still slide, just not as smooth as allstar and camtree.

Ok, now I have to sell my WC DSMC² riser plate and the 15mm rods adapter. Anyone interested ?

I'm interested in the WC DSMC 2 Easy Riser
