  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ridley Scott and Dariusz Wolski...

imho DARIUSZ WOLSKI needs a huge shout out here. He is one of my favorite 3, all tied for first, Cinematographers!

From The Crow, Dark City and A Perfect Murder to everything since then he has really really inspired me.

This is intense!

I can't say enough good things about Dariusz Wolski and Trevor Loomis (his right hand guy and 1st ac) ... Two very talented men.

I was trying to find words to describe how excited I am about this thread and this film and then they magically appeared. This is very cool news!

I propose a toast to Jim and the RED team. Thank you for believing you could do it and thank you for making it happen. We are so proud of you!

Roll on 2011!!!!!

:cheers2:

This is one more great news, Congratulations RED, I love hearing this quotes and stories of industry leaders using and been amazed by the RED products. Again, I can't wait to have mine do amazing work with it.

Just for reference.. being part of the Santa Fe 3d Workshop at Red Studio Hollywood, we were all treated to the first public showing of the Element Technica Atom 3d Rig. The same rig mentioned by Dariusz Wolski. This rig is a freakin work of art. Special thanks to the workshop, Red and Element Technica for sharing this with us.

Interesting to see Malick shot at least some of The Tree of Life on RED, in addition to 35 and 65mm. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478304/technical

A day to celebrate when footage this crisp: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi612735001/ is indiscernable between silver halide and REDCODE.

Looking forward to seeing the Epic shape cinema for years to come, and wracking my brain to anticipate what RED iteration will be available ten years from now.

Dude, you post the coolest pictures.

Nice 1st post. Terence Malick is currently shooting on RED with Chivo.

Jim

Is the Chivo you mention Emmanuel Lubezki?
We called Emmanuel, Chivo on ALI (by Michael Mann), I worked with him here in Mozambique.

I really love how he shoots and lights.

Great to hear he is shooting on a RED.

Thanks David.. I just can't get over how i can do this with my camera phone. =)

I can't tell from this photo because of the angle but how do they connect the Epic to the Atom because I don't see any wires; just a module attached to the end of the Epic.
