Some frame grabs from two of the three spots we filmed last week in Vancouver, BC. Hectic, but very proud of what we came away with.

We spent the day with Robert Kenney for one of the spots. Robert is one only two wet plate photographers in Canada. It's an incredible process and it was a surreal pleasure to spend the day in his studio watching him create. Also the easiest lighting job I've ever had. :)

Rob, amazing stuff!!

Thanks, guys! Much appreciated.

Greg, no sharpening in post. I put them through a quick grade in RedCine-X but nothing extensive. I shot with the Isaac and I's Red Pro Zoom 18-85 and a set of Red Pro Primes. Super sharp lenses even wide open, which is normally how I shoot.

Ditto! Especially on the elderly lady. Rob, what was your setup on that? And was that shot with the RPPs or RZ?

The two angles of the elderly lady are naturally lit. We had a K5600 Joker 800 with a 5' Octabank standing by (we used it in the shot of Robert at the top) but we didn't need it for her. Robert's studio had floor to ceiling windows on the south side and the light at the time was gorgeous so we used that. I shot HDRx for both of those shots and they were both captured with the RPZ due to the fact that we only had an hour with the woman. The HDRx does amazing things for the skin in the right circumstances.

Very fun shoot. I'll post the spot as soon as it's cut and graded. We shot the entire process from him mixing the chemicals to pouring collodion on the glass to exposing and processing the plate as you can see in the first four grabs.
