Resolve Time Code Issue

Using Windows, DaVinci Resolve Lite 12.5 - i believe its the .554 version

I have some time code file that I did the auto sync via time code from the media bin. I picked the .R3Dand the .WAV and ti synced I make a few ins and out and drop them to the timeline.. No problem there.

Now this is for a short film so I wanted to have 1 main project file with different timelines for each scene.

Problem is when I do the scene edit I then do a copy of the timeline - go into my main project file - make a new timeline for scene XYZ and do paste. It pastes but the audio does not show the wave forms and there is no audio there just the audio box. No sounds when you play. I have the option to view wave forms.

I think it does not paste that across. Can this be done.. or must i use RED CINE to Sync and export all .AAF/.WAVE files and do it that way.

Sean, I just want to be clear that I follow you. Are you saying that when you copy and paste to create a new timeline from a timeline that has synced audio, the synced audio does not carry over to the new timeline?

Yea... it carries over just the block and you see the volume line but no waveform and when you play its just silent. Thanks in advacne for the fast response.

I tried this and could not duplicate it. I created a timeline with clips with synced audio, marked an In and an Out. Edit... Copy, File... New Timeline, Edit... Paste and the video and audio both copied over fine.

Let me know if I'm doing something differently. And if you haven't found an answer (if have please share) maybe shoot a quick video of what you're seeing.

Well the audio was an external .WAV file that I did auto sync with time code in the media bin. Was yours the same?

Mine was external .WAV. I used the waveforms, not timecode to do the syncing.

If you want to dropbox me a sample of the files, I can give it a shot. One thing I thought about was to check to see if the auto selectors (little white <> inside a white box outline) for the tracks you want to copy are turned on. But I bet they were, b/c it sounds like something is being pasted, it's just that there's no real audio in that something.
