So do Resolve and Premiere CS6 pretty much suck balls when used together? I'm having a hell of a time trying to get my footage in v.9 without major, time-consuming workarounds.

Tested it with that horrible turd FCPX, and I'm having no issues exporting to Resolve from there.

Please somebody tell me that FCPX won't be my new NLE of choice.

Also, is there a way to get RGB curves in AE with full control (the built in ones suck...they move all over the place when you make incremental adjustments to other areas)?
What are you doing to get into resolve? We have worked with them and have tested workflows.

Cheers

Dave

I had problems getting simple EDLs from Premiere 5.5 into Resolve. Also, if you are working with multi-cam, you can forget getting your edit out of Premiere. I learned this the hard way.

Try duplicating your sequence, remove any titles/effects, and flatten the timeline as much as you can and you should be golden.

I have not been able to successfully cut in say FCP, export xml, open in Resolve and relink, color, export new xml and render and try to open in Premiere. DOES NOT WORK! One of the many annoyances I have. Premiere even though it has so many great features lacks some basic functionality.

There lies my problem. Thanks for the help guys!

Damn... Just editing in Premiere CC, wanted to a bit of color in Resolve. I'll start a new thread and see if we can get adobe to take a look if there are no clear solutions from fellow users.

Interesting.
I just edited a short spot in FCP7 with transcoded Prores, exported XML, opened the timeline in Resolve, graded, exported a new XML and opened it all graded in PP. Worked like a charm.
I believe, this trick editing in FCP and rountripping to PP is even more difficult, that straight PP to Resolve roundtrip, which too works fine as well.

Well interesting. What export option are you using in PP? "Final Cut Pro XML?"

Have you had any success with .EDL?

I am using Premiere Pro CC with native R3Ds.

Other's are having trouble on this forum, would you be willing to post a simple step by step guide please? Export in PP, to Import in Resolve and back? Thanks in advance.

Having a little more success searching YOUTUBE. I can import in the Conform tab an XML created in Premiere with the timeline showing up.

The Import EDL options works as well in the Conform tab of DaVinci. I'm guess the Batch List EDL option in Premiere is worth skipping for now.
