  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Resolve only Recognize x8 Rocket lane?

Make sure you only update to 10.8.1 from here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1571

Anyone have a 10.8.0 version of Mountain Lion download they can FTP to me? Seems that I can't roll back to 10.8.0 (trying to do a clean install to solve the problem) since when I restart, wipe drive, then download the ML update, it automatically updates it to 10.8.2 AHHHH!!!

I thought you did already download 10.8.0? Unfortunately Torrent is the only way.

Here is the torrent I used.

I can't update that way. :-( I'm already on 10.8.2 and it won't let me roll back. Can't find download of 10.8.0 anywhere to make a boot disk so I can reinstall.

Well the problem as been solved....it took a few days to get there, but finally, have figured out what all that mess was and have some time tests for you guys too.

All tests are with the same XML sequence from Premier Pro CS6 6.0.1.
Using Sonnet TB Enclosure
Operating Mountain Lion v 10.8.1

Sequence is 3 mins 10 seconds in length
Did my grade in both Davinci. :-)
Output set to HIGHEST quality - 5K final file

Latest 27" Decked iMac Times
WITH Rocket - 10 mins 15 seconds
WITHOUT Rocket - 47 mins 27 seconds

17" MBP (latest prior to Apple X'd it)
WITH Rocket - 12 minutes 37 seconds
WITHOUT Rocket - 59 minutes 37 seconds

Obviously a HUGE difference between transcoding with the rocket and without. I also noticed a slight sharpness increase as well with Rocket (as many people have mentioned).

Again thanks for all of the RU help on this one. Couldn't have done it without you guys!! Just goes to show what a great community of gents (and a few gals) we have here! :-)

What did you do to fix the problem?

It was a lot of fixes. Completely wiped my HD's on both computers. Reinstalled 10.8.0 then manually updated to 10.8.1. Reflashed RR card with firmware. Tweaked settings within Davinci a bit (lots of them, too many to list). :-) Screams now!
