  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Resolve only Recognize x8 Rocket lane?

Can you make sure you are not running Redcine at the same time as you are running Resolve?

It is still active....It just isn't in an 8x slot which is why it says No. It's still being used though....

I have a rocket in my mac pro in a 4x slot and i get the same thing but it still functions.

How many FPS are you getting with the Rocket? I'm getting 4FPS without it, and only .5/1fps with it which makes me think I'm missing a setting or checkbox somewhere. Like I mentioned before, RED Cine X screams with the Rocket/Sonnet.

what do you have your debayer settings set at?

Thats because your probably going from a 1/4 res without it to a full debayer with the rocket. Set it to full without the rocket and see what you get.

Ok..did some testing. I originally had it set to 1/2 Good. Without the rocket get 4fps. Set it to Full REz Premium and it's ridiculous. 0-.5FPS. Says it will take 60 hours to render a 3 min sequence!! What are the usual settings people are using out of Davinci? Wondering why it such a HUGE difference between RCX and Davinci in terms of rendering time. I get real-time sequence render times out of RCX.

What are your sequence settings and resolution? Resolve is GPU intensive for playback while debayer is handled by the rocket.

5K WS - outputting to 5K WS. I know it significantly improves going down to 1080, but I want the higher resolution master file. In terms of RCX transcode times to full 5K, I get 5x real time, which should only be 15 minutes since I have a 3 min sequence in Resolve.

While working within resolve reduce the debayer settings for performance. On the delivery settings, select Maximum quality and it will override the lower debayer settings.

What's the normal res people are setting it to? Just seems crazy to have it take 60 hours to render 3 minutes.

Ohh..and I appreciate all the help from my fellow RU's :-)

How complex are your node setups? Always reboot the machine before a render too.

No more than 3- 4 nodes at most. Tried rebooting before render...doesn't really help. Wonder if it's just me or is anyone else doing exporting the same resolution and experiencing the thing using my setup.

Using latest iMac as well as decked 17" MBP along with Sonnet RR.

Doesn't sound right. Did you update the operating system with Resolve installed? If so try reinstalling Resolve and try again.

If memory serves me correctly, I updated to Mountain Lion prior to my installation of Resolve 9.0 (updated to 9.0.1). Would love someone using Resolve (full version) to chime in and see how long it's taking to render to full 5k/4k output to pro-res.

Will try reinstalling.

What kind of speed do you get going to 1080?
