Resolve on the latest MacBook Pros - how well does it work?

I've read the Resolve configuration guide which states that "The high performance NVIDIA graphics processor includes CUDA support, which is essential for Resolve." However, as many of you know, the new MBPs (2011), despite their powerful new GPUs, don't have CUDA support. Does this mean they're dead in the water? I imagine that Resolve 8 will resolve this problem (pun intended) but perhaps someone from Black Magic can confirm this...

Is anyone successfully using the new MBPs with the current version of Resolve?

Some MB Pros sport Nvidia cards, so they can run Resolve as is. On the newer MB Pros Apple switched to ATI. BM enabled Open CL support in order to be able to run Resolve 8 on those MB Pros. Unfortunately, Open CL is not as well optimized, as CUDA, hence Resolve 8 running on Open CL will have lesser capabilities, than MB Pros with CUDA capable GPU. Side note, the new noise reduction node works only with CUDA capable cards.

Do you mean that the new noise reduction node is only accelerated on CUDA, or really that it only works on CUDA?

Yes, to use the new noise reduction node you must have gpu with Cuda i.e. Nvidia.
