it's a feature i use quite often. and I just upgraded to resolve 9, loaded up a r3d project i had, and did a right click on my thumbnail in the timeline in my color room. the edit red codec settings is gone. only place i see it is in the conform room when i right click on a clip.

in the manual it says it's supposed to be there, anybody have any ideas?

Click on the bottom left of the grading window. It's in the same place, where you select 3way, log grading. That's the bummer, because if you use log or 3 way selection, you can't see the red settings at the same time. I actually like this display much better, than before, but because of the Log grading click-athon, this new feature kinda gets waisted.

thanks guys, it would have been nice if they had the "new way" of accessing it and keeping the old way at the same time. it's a simple right click and drop down menu, it's always annoying to find out where they moved everything.

now i wish you could custom map a avid artist to resolve. that would solve a lot of ur issues jake :)

just a single button to toggle back and forth between log grading and raw codec settings.

If you didn't need to click between 3 way and Log, the new metadata window would have been really nice. But because it is impossible now to operate Resolve without clicking back and fourth, the metadata window is no longer visible.
Custom mapping your own panel? Yeah, good one Tom:banghead:

my camera raw tab items are greyed out, i see all the metadata, but can't access them, what am i doing wrong?

I had this problem as well. Look for the "Decode Using" tab in the clip's Camera Raw settings.

"Decode Using" can be set to: RED Default, Project, Metadata, and Clip. If you want to alter the settings on a clip by clip basis, you have to select "Clip" for each clip and you can manipulate the raw data.

Another note, I would recommend disabling "Use Metadata Curves". For the longest time I couldn't figure out why all my clips had a pre-applied S-Curve until I realized it was the S-Curve done during dailies.
