For those using Fusion within Resolve 15 to add VFX to R3Ds:
- What are your system specs? CPU/GPU/RAM/Media etc.?
- What R3D Decode Quality are you using in the Camera RAW settings?
- What is your timeline resolution while editing?
- What playback frame rate are you getting in the Fusion tab or Edit tab when you add Particles or other tools that require heavy processing on the fly?

This is my 5.5 year old PC build:
Windows 10, CPU: i7-3930K 3.2GHz 6-Core, 32GB RAM, 1x GTX 770 4GB, 2x2TB HDD RAID-0

Resolve Edit and Color playback is realtime with my typical settings:
R3D: 6K 6:1, Resolve Decode Quality: Quarter Res. Good, Timeline: 4K (or 2K if necessary).

I have been editing and doing green screen work on Resolve for a few years at those settings, without Fusion. But the Resolve Fusion tab still crashes almost as much as the initial Resolve 15 Beta releases for me when I add any tools/effects on an R3D.

I'm curious about how it's holding up for everybody else. I know it's time for a new build, but I want to know that the performance would be good when I do eventually upgrade.

The more RAM you have the better Fusion runs, with 4k delivery you'll need 64 GB.

w10
2 x 2697v2's
128g sys ram
2 x 1080 ti
64Tb SAS spinning disk array

full premium

max deliverable, often UHD or DCi4k, some shows at DCi2k

need to define what the r3d source files are, and what effect is applied to get a real world read, too many variables
