I need to render two passes of raw footage. Same grade, but the second pass will include scale, pan, tilt position changes, per clip.

What is the best approach? I attempted to create two timelines in conform. However, scale and pan changes in the second timeline appear to apply to all instances in all timelines.

How do I apply position changes to individual "edits" in Resolve?

I've never had to do this and I'm not very good at Resolve but I did have one idea which might help. If Resolve will only apply transformations on a per-clip basis, perhaps you will need to create a new directory of clips for it to conform to which contains symbolic links to all your actual footage. That way, Resolve will see two different files but they won't consume twice the disk space.

Anyway, might help or might not, just an idea!

All changes will carry across multiple timelines. The way around this is to create a new "Version" for each clip you want a PTZR on. <Right Click> a clip on the color page and select "Remote Version --> New" and then make your change on the new version. All the grading will copy across to the new version (as an option) so that you do't have to regrade it before your change.

Try this:

Select your timeline, right click+Create New Timeline.
Go to the color page, select all the clips, choose Copy Remote Grades to Local. Now you can PTZR and it won't ripple across the other timelines.

Works! Thank you.

Easiest method is set up your original timeline to render with all the PTZR that you want. Then add another job to the render queue where you tick the checkbox for "Disable Input Sizing." Render that second pass to another destination, and you should be good to go.
