Hey all, I'm having an issue in Resolve 12 and now I'm 12.5 as of yesterday. In the render tab, when the preview window is playing during rendering, my video looks fine.

But when it's finished, and I go to open the rendered video in QT or VLC. The video is brighter than what I was working with during grading, like the overall gamma exposure shifted.

I havent experienced this issue before, but I'm working with R3D files if that matters.

Also I'm working in the default color science Davinci YRGb, no external grading monitor. Since I work solely on my 27" iMac.

Anyone have an idea? I know how to setup my project settings, but I still don't know what's going on.

Thanks!

I was able to figure it out, in the Color management tab in project settings I had to un-check the "use mac display color profile for viewers". At default it's checked. Hopefully this helps others too.

Scrolling through this thread I was going to tell you exactly this, but you found out. I only know because I was in a similar situation a way back. It's insane that it's set like that on default. Possibly a bug, since that issue popped up for me all of a sudden after some update... don't remember when.

Don't try to monitor picture quality or color within the Viewer on Resolve. Only use a calibrated monitor through a color-managed output. (I swear, I should make this a cut-and-paste macro.)

That's what I'm doing now, just bought another monitor to do my color grading
