  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

F is for FULL QUALITY as in a 4k proxy if you record 4K or a 2K proxy if you record 2K.

so then, what could those _F files accomplish in Final Cut Pro? Would it be feasible to NOT necessarily have to run the footage through REDCine (or any transfer process) when finishing for TV? How is the 4K QT when rendered out in Final Cut?

Useable for any delivery other than internet? That would be cool.

Yes the .R3D files will open up that way in REDALERT or REDCINE because the look parameter metadata is recorded in every frame anyway... no need for REDALERT or REDCINE to be able to read the speciific LOOK file to do this. The main application for LOOK files at this stage is to allow two or more cameras to have a common LOOK profile.
 
Full size quicktimes are a scale up, so they have the same actual resolution of the Half size. Just a way to get a proper size quicktime without needing to do the work, for when your recording smaller resolutions (ie 2k)

Rebooted after successful 15 upgrade, completed the black shading and now it is stuck in the booting mode. Reformatted the card and still the same problem. Any ideas?

Where does the "look" get created, in RED alert or in the camera?

Edge highlight is the Peaking function which was in prior builds.

Edit: Ok, RTFM Anders!. It seems to have changed into the new overlay function according to the manual. sorry..

Yank the power out. Click the power button three times quickly. Wait a few minutes. And try again.

Uh, I can't get it to record 4k 2:1 Redcode 36 to CF either. I did re-format in 4k 2:1 R28 and then turned on R36 and it immediately puts an x through the ok sign.
 
Cant 4k at redcode 36 on CF. Camera is not allowing formatting with those settings.
Ok on drive.
 
Wondering,

Would you guys post a version of the Ops manual? I get my camera in a few days and I would like to be able to read up on the beta release.

There is so much new stuff, would it be fair to post a Beta build Operations manual?
