Red Chaps,

Shooting Release Build 15 2.2.5 yesterday. 4K 2:1 24fps Redcode 36.

Still had the LCD flickering lower screen issues (particularly when lots of movement on screen ie panning). Fixable as usual via rboot, cable disconnect etc. As a quick fix going to operator mode top left LCD button got rid of it.

Other than that all seems fine.

Just letting you know.

Cheers

Build 16 should be out today right? I think I am more excited about build 16 then anything else!

Hello Lads!

Is it so that other builds are in constant availability or have certain of the previous issues been kept in case of user preferance while others left behind forever?

If so which ones are still accessable and is there a way to have a point for point simple sumation of which strengths and weaknesses are typical of that particular build.

IOW which are stable now? A list of pros and cons? Where?

Would it be possible then to assign certain builds to conditions that demand those strengths like choosing a lens or some other variable rather than having to fight through an unpredictable one when in a tight spot.

When cam is in JAM-Sync TC, it is syncing fine. BUT when you wan't to resync the cam you have to reboot. Thats like it should be????

thx

Playback from disk is still buggy.

Gunleik

Yup, playback from RED DRIVE still doesn't work. Crashes more often than not. And after an automatic reboot the LCD displays the blue channel only. A second reboot is always necessary.

And I also get the reported LCD flickering in the lower third whenever there's some movement in the picture. Really annoying.

I cannot believe that this is a "release build".

But besides all that, the pictures are still gorgeous. :shifty:

Builds are but not versions check out history on the red support site or here

So save the version downloads for future downgrades.

Red?

Red?

RED? ANYONE?

Just got my camera (with build 13).

I was about to put the "RELEASE BUILD" of 15 in. I'm going to hold off until I hear otherwise.

What is a "release build" anyway? I thought it meant the bugs had been exterminated?

Absolutely the right question Dylan. Releases should be (mostly) bug free. Doesn't seem like 15 is anywhere near that (as i write at my computer, no camera in hand)
And what happened to Release 14? Why is everyone going back two?

I'm still on build 13.

Build 15 still generates a number of annoying codec errors (such as when panning in high detail environments with areas of overexposed background, e.g panning across tree canopies, exposing for the leaves.)

I think I'll wait for a stable 16 and skip 15 altogether.

I went to 13 as 14 was never a stable release (although, I could be wrong?).

Fred save to what and how where? To a cf dedicated to the version or what?

boot up problems

boot up problems

Yep, still finding build 15 buggy. Finding more and more in freezes on boot up and the other day too us 5 times before she was up and running. LCD flicker also as usual. Bit disapointed this is a 'release' build. I'm stuck whether to just keep persisting with 15 or go back to 13...not a great situation to be in. Waiting for the day when i turn up on 15 and i can't even fire her up, what do i do then? Can't even boot up to go back to 13. Suggestions?:shiftyph34r:

Unplug your lcd when booting up. Once you get past the first "booting..." screen, then go ahead and plug it back in. We were having the same issues and have not had it hang once using this method.
