  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDWARE- Clothing/Hats

SWAG SWAG SWAG.
And dont forget to make it available in XXXL please
seriously some of us need that please

I wore my Epic Mysterium-X hat while shooting Coachella and it saved my face.

Personally I'd happily sport some Red work gloves on set. I use them everyday and that would be extremely functional.

I'm betting we'll see some new shirts soon.

I'd kill for a bag that was 20" long x 13.5" deep x 13.5" or 15" tall with some sturdy walls and a lid with some good sized accessory pockets.

Nike Dri-Fit Material would be great, prefer shirts that do not shrink.

When I had just started my film course at Univeristy, I was at the cinema waiting for my film and I spotted a gentleman waiting in the Lobby. He was wearing a black jacket with a RED badge on the chest. It was beautiful and I could hardly stop staring at it. I went online to see if I could find them, but it seems they've never been available?

I've always wanted to know if he had some kind of super rare jacket or if he just stuck a badge on an old jacket lol.

Moral of the story, I WANT THAT JACKET.

I think there are plenty of us that want the stuff!! The demand is here.. Just not sure why its so hard?

Hard, no. Time consuming, yes. I worked at Oakley for 6 years, I know the level of effort in designing, reviewing, planning that went into even a "simple" tee. Remember, we are a lean shop so every minute we spend on x is one minute less spent on y.

Not to say we won't ever do more - or even don't have a few new things in the pipeline, but just a reminder that our priorities are what they are : )

Brent, thanks for your response. I understand...... Kinda......

im not sure about everyone else, but I'm not looking for something complicated.. I'm looking for, small, simple. It could just be the word RED with the word "Crew" on the sleeve.. Just no gigantic dragons and RED logos. Even a sketch of the Epic brain.

Just something that is understated.

please.. And thank you.

Oh and what's after Dragon?

Even if you leave the design process out of it, there is still a lot of time that's devoted to sourcing suppliers, and managing inventory. It would make sense for RED to just outsource the whole thing which may go against REDs philosophy.

I actually think that "understated" is not in RED vocabulary, never was.
The dragon teas sell cameras, bring the technology awareness to the industry.
That's their purpose first and foremost. Red is not just another Abercombie or Hollister ...

Bingo. We are control freaks. Outsourcing branded products, no gonna happen.

hmmm, so you guys make all of your shirts and hats in house? Wow.. Didn't know that..

Jim was wearing exactly what I am referring to at NAB. A nice shirt with the word RED. He didn't have a dragon on his head breathing fire.. It's not necessary.. Shirts DO NOT sell RED cameras. If you buy a camera because you saw it on a tshirt then you are a crazy MOFO. Lol

jup... I mean they (you?) even custom-design the showcase-interior for their branch/stores (the metal-boxes, military-look stuff)...
not too many companies do that (only like Apple comes to my mind)...

that I can understand.. Those are more like 1 of a kind things..

Make, as in are we stitching shirts on a sewing machine? No. But we design, we do design revisions, planning, sourcing, etc. Again, not hard, but time consuming.

Hahaha, I was waiting for the next NAB where you have the clothing line guys in a sewing room.. Thankfully that won't be happening..

ok, I'll shut up now and continue to wear normal boring clothing on set until you guys find an awesome stylist to make some killer stuff!
