  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Redvolt XL Module now shipping

Great to hear Jarred, thanks a lot.

They are shipping... Need about another week to catch up

Yeah the switchplate is awesome. no more adapter :)

Loved the V-lock but as you know Ketch I havn't looked back since I've had this module.. it's the best of everything.

When Jarred said that to me a while back, after handling His Dragon set up with it, I said I did love it, just didn't know I would love it this much!!

Now I think the wait will be well worth as I simply have ours glued (not literally) on the back of DragonM8, this thing is just amazingly great module and off course also pretty cool... ;)

It also fills way more secure then any V-Lock I used, and enough to carry it in the same way I had been carrying my Still camera system when moving form location to locate in short distances... ;)

Now I need to trying and get a really GREAT deal on MORE way MORE XL Redvolts... Which btw, are fantastic for AIR travel too... :)

Ketch, great to hear! If you have a moment, how far does the XL Redvolt stick out from the back of your dragon brain when in the module? I'm thinking in terms of fitting that setup on the camera tray of a gimbal... Thx

Mine is attached strait on to the camera Brain, but it does stick out a bit when the XL Redvolt is in, I'll have to measure how much once I get back and report, but this might not be an optimal set up for some Gimbals, but in one that has a back open, it actually would serve a better balancing set up with front heavier/longer lenses.

For those Gimbals that have a fixed back, and can NOT accommodate with longer Rods, camera plate then you'll need to either power up the camera thru the Gimbal power solution (my preferred way) or via a V-Lock battery plate with LOW profile mounted on side of the Brain.

Just got my shipping notice, so looking forward to 2 of these arriving. Thanks Red.

As promised, here is a quick shot of DragonM8 with the XL Module and XL Redvolt, which as you can see strait form the point of contact in the Brain to back of battery is 3" 1/4 OR "8" Centimeters... :)

got my tracking number today. will get it 5months after ordering which said 2-5weeks... with constant "3 weeks from now" every 3 weeks. and even to "you are first in line". this is probably one of the worst customers service i had ever had to deal with. looks like some people still dont get that honesty works the best. constant lies are not good.
otherwise im really happy with how Red Europe did - from ordering my camera to a fast repair and checkup... so its not all bad.
at least they could send me a hat or a tshirt to make me feel better :D

Uros,

All valid points please understand there are tons of variables that come into play, we are lucky that we are able to manufactured a high percentage of parts in house but we are still at the mercy of certain vendors and they provide estimated lead times and some times they hit those expectations and sometimes they slip. We are constantly improving our back end operations to avoid scenarios like this, believe me we don't like not being able to provide you with product :)

i know you guys are not trying to screw with people, but the post from Jarred about the clusterfuck could come early as this has been going for a long time. thats all im saying. sometimes its better to say "we have no idea as we have some problems" then saying just something. in the long wait i even considered to return my XL batteries and go with V-Lock and asked my bomb rep to give me a deadline as i had a project coming up in a good month. he said ill get it XL module in time so I decided too keep the batteries and wait... guess what happened :) no XL module,... its still an expensive camera from we need to make money and wrong shipping times can cost us a lot... spent a bit of a money renting Vlocks when I had XL-s on the shelf...
If i would get realistic "no idea we have some problems" i would go with Vlocks from the start and probably saved enough money to get the XL module for "free" now.
thats all im trying to say.

I contacted the RED Store in Los Angeles about the XL Module after seeing that they've listed this item as IN STOCK on the Red.com site. I was told that it was IN STOCK at the Irvine Warehouse and would most likely be shipped out the same day if order was placed before 1PM.

CAN ANYONE FROM CONFIRM OR DENY THIS FOR ME BEFORE I JUST HAVE ME MONEY SITTING WITH NO ITEM. THANKS!
