  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT-V . Mini V-Locks now shipping

I have had zero issues with Redvolt-Vs or any other Red batteries charging on the Red Brick Charger.

my bricks have been rock solid, owned other brands too, whats your beef dude

I think the fact there are batteries that are higher capacity, have a lot more features, weigh less, are high quality yet a lot cheaper is reason enough to never buy Red batteries!

Hey Juan,
Curious to know what brand/model# batteries you are referring to, I'm due for some new power.

My use case for the RED Slim-V batts is for low profile situations. I just want to stay small, light and subtle. Most of the regular pro V-mount batteries look too hard core to avoid attracting attention. In addition, I'd like to have something small for gimbals/drones/etc where the weight savings are more critical than run time.

Cheers - #19

Yeah I love the Redvolt-Vs, I definitely wish Red would design a model with 86wh and maybe even a 129wh model, each one just getting slightly thicker but with the same basic design. It's the only batter that actually looks like it was designed for the camera.

Check out the Hawk Woods Mini V-Lock 50WH. 60g lighter, P-Tap out. $8 more expensive in the US compared to the Red Mini V-Locks, but about 10% cheaper in the EU.

They also do a 98WH version at 500g and a 150WH at 710g.

Hi,

Do these redvolt-v batts recharge if you add red ac mains on the vlock io expander?

Thanks

No more Mini-V-Locks?

RED Online Shop is only offering: RED Brick...

Hmm, DSMC3 is coming closer. Likely they run with higher volt batteries for the new round. Or atleast thats my guess. DSMC2 with accessories tend to drag too much power for 12V.

Well those are sexy. Any chance of a redesign for sleeker XL batteries?

+1. Really feels/looks like a dead end on the XL module/battery path here, too. Not that they ever held up too well, dual charger or power-wise. Still, like 12 deep on those, lol. Looks like V mount for the most universal power from here on out..

I'm curious what the new Komodo camera will use for power? It would actually be pretty cool if it had a V-Mount connector on the back to use with Mini V-Locks, especially if the power draw is closer to 15-20wh per hour.
