REDvolt Recycling?

One of my REDvolts has finally decided to only hit 2 bars of charging, and cuts power to the cam at 10% or so.

I have a couple questions now:

1.) Any best practices for eventually recycling this one, as well as others, once it goes?
2.) Why hasn't a third-party solution (or new REDvolt) been released? Is it even possible to create a shell of a REDvolt and stuff it with like 4 AA batteries?

Good question. I have a load of Redvolts that are only charging up to around 50% and would love to be able to get them recycled in some way.... seems a shame to just throw them away.

Not entirely sure - is there a way to check that?

Don't think so as the batteries are dumb. Can you recall how many times you charged/cycled before they started loosing their capacity?
