  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedUsers.net's most hated word!

When I write out a post and see that someone (Tom) has beaten me to it.

Tom, you've no idea how many times I've wanted to suggest having a permanent page to refer these posters to. Something along the lines of: "We all know that having decent equipment won't improve a poor script- or a poor performance, concept, directorial decision, crummy lighting, nasal deliveries, crap wardrobe, stage fright, ...... However, you dough-head, inferior equipment won't help a brilliant performance, an insightful story-line...... and so on.
Dough-head is optional.

You got it wrong, Joel. The real gamechanger occurs when you align a badass script with killer actors. And FF35 is going to be my B-cam. 645 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread sucks. Totally blows me away that we discuss things like this around here.

BTW, can someone tell me which preset button in Apple Color gives me the glossy Michael Bay / Transformers look?

I'm going to push the "post" button and go hide now... <click>

any reference to jizzin' one's pants, needing a change of underwear, etc.

...wish i had a button that could just cancel those reduser moments from memory forever...the price of useful information is sometimes rather blech.

"killer"

"vs."

+ very fond of learning what were 28 Days Later and Blair Witch shot on.

Great!
(ok, I have wrote a lot of post like this. But I have an excuse: I'm sooo bad with my written english... So, sorry. :-)

*Like a kid in school raising his hand with the answer*
OOO OOO! I GOT ONE!

"Should I go to film school or buy a Scarlet when it comes out?"

"If there is the budget its gonna be 35 mm"
"Why the rental price is so high if the Red is so cheap?"

I strongly vote for "gamechanger(ing)"

What's your most hated term on RedUsers.net?

Redusers.net ??

(It's Reduser.net - how did you manage to log in here?)

My personal favorite is people whose budget is apparently so tight they have to economize on words so they sound like a classified ad. You know:

Shooting a spec music video on Saturday with no budget, no crew, for an unsigned band that have never played anywhere and don't know we're doing it. Plan to use my father's Digital-8 handycam and available light.
Looking for a 35mm film look. Suggestions? Thanx.

I also can't stand people who who spell thanks "thanx" although I don't remember anybody here doing it.

I second "gamechanger" and "vs."

I get more annoyed at the posts that claim RED one as a camera flaunted with bugs O.o
Can no one see the shot on red section?that's like more then 14 pages of clips and promos etc.!!

"I want to make a film -- which camera should I buy?"

I absolutely looove it when people quote long paragraphs and then add very little to it. Not.

"Why is there no Windows version?"

Asking a question that has been answered one page earlier.

Asking a question that has been answered at least 3 times before.

"Ebay" (if people have gear to sell and they want to use Reduser for free, be at least so kind to offer it here exclusively.)

This one I saved for last:

"HDV."

I absolutely looove it when people quote long paragraphs and then add very little to it. Not.

Or when someone posts some text with a giant pic and then 20 people unnecessarily include that giant pic when quoting the text. Kind of a hassle when browsing on an iPhone...

Next to "game changer" my second most disliked phrase/word, if you can call it that would be "woot"... what ever that is supposed to mean.
