... the bigger picture is that it should be easy for people to join that discussion, see the two sides of the discussion, and then perhaps contribute something of their own.
Thanks to contributors like Steve and Terry, they put some balance back into the keel of this tossing ship that is RedUser. It sure is a ride sometimes and I really do get a lot of enjoyment from comments ! + the immense amount of personal experience sharing that goes on here. I do at times feel that I'm wasting my time reading some threads due to the lack of usefulness in the discussion and the pointless direction that some of them lead to. On the otherhand, there is so much interaction that is valuable to the community as a whole that the forum itself just can't be ignored (at least by me anyways). The upcoming growth spurt of this forum is just starting and there will be some changes yes, but with a little bit of mature temperment shown by the majority of posters, this forum will remain the go-to addicting site that it has been in the past. When new contributors start to de-rail theads for needless purposes, it should be everyones duty, not only the Moderators, to help get a quick realignment established. It takes a whole community to raise a child.
As a fairly new person here myself, awaiting delivery of my Scarlet Ti, I really hope that the threads remain useful, productive and enriching to new RedUsers that are coming aboard the forum. I'm sure that there will be a lot of exciting new Scarlet contributors joining over the next while, and I hope that the established culture here gets through to them leaving a respectful, lasting immpression. It really is posts like those from Steve and Terry in this thread that go a long way in making this type of forum culture happen.
