There is no explanation of REDspace in the ops guide. I think I understand it, but it would be nice to hear a clear explanation of what REDspace is from someone at RED.

It'd be nice if REDSPACE had the same ceiling as RAW. It's a bummer to think I'm clipping when I'm really not.
I see the benefit of REDspace - both for shooting and grading - but I still wish there were two sets of stoplights: one for REDspace and one for the actual sensor.
My point is that if REDspace tells me I'm clipping at 320 ASA, I'm not actually clipping in the RAW footage. I'm guessing that I could lower my processing ASA to 200 or 250 to bring back those highlights and then just lift the rest of the image into the right neighborhood... yes?
I do generally grade linear, the starting point in SCRATCH.

For example, if I'm shooting at a higher ASA, it'd be nice to know that the hot spots the camera tells me are clipping at my current ASA aren't actually clipped in the RAW data.
This is the way I see it:
One thing I did not figure out yet: Does the EVF support RAW histogramm while displaying RedSpace on 1080p out?

However, it's like Stuart and Jim say, ultimately if you're distribution is to an RBG colorspace, why shouldn't REDspace suit your needs since it appears to be the most accurate representation of what you're going to see on a broadcast monitor anyway? And you know you've got a little wiggle room because of the RAW, as Jim also says.
This is the way I see it:
RedSpace is great for monitoring, it gives you and the client a nice, vibrant picture and no one is asking why is the picture so dark, kind of WYSIWYG with the safety of RAW. Big improvement!
I always set 200-250 ASA in RC when shot 320 ASA and the histo clipps on the right side. This happens all the time and is the downside of metadata transport.
I was asking whether I can see the actual data (RAW) of the sensor on the histogram while viewing RedSpace (RGB).
I think that you will find that with Build 16 you'll use ASA 320 in Red Alert! if you used ASA 320 in the camera. i.e that issue solved..
No, at this time, one goes with the other.
Can't you toggle between two colorspaces for verification of this very fact?
