Sorry if this has been covered before but is it possible to install REDROCKET in my Mac and PC? Is it PCI-E 8 or 16 slot? In my PC for example, I would assume it would work with my existing NVidia FX 4800 card, and just act as an accelerator for R3D, correct?

Also, how large are the cards? My FX 4800 card barely fit between the PCI-E slot and the hard drive chasis, anyone that can provide a length measurement of the card would be much appreciated. Also, is there any 10 bit monitoring support enabled on the card? I heard the SDI port is 8 bit?

Thanks in advance!

No offense to anyone at RED cause I know they are extremely busy and don't have time to answer questions every five minutes but why would I purchase a $5,000.00 card from you without proper documentation and a full understanding of the basics/specs?

Guess I'll just wait until I actually know what it is FULLY capable of. And please don't point me to a 50-100 page thread. I don't have the time to search through it for the actual facts. An online manual would be fantastic or at lease some written specs on red.com or here in a sticky or something would be nice please.

Mike, Information on the RedRocket can be found in the Red User or Red Support page:

"Hardware Requirements.
PCI-e x16 physical slot providing at least 8 lanes (x8)
2048 MB RAM"

It is definitely a full size PCI board.

Like anyone else using the Red, for me more than a year now, Red is always pushing the envelop and those more adventurous will buy and test their new beta products - RedRocket being one of them. So do not expect comprehensive manual with their first beta release. Like thousand of Red users, the only way is to come to this forum and read the 50-100 sometime even more pages thread.

Unfortunately, you need to be in the Red Community long enough to know where to get the right information. It has become second nature to us - Lim

http://www.red.com/support in the REDrocket Installer zip is a manual for REDrocket.

There's no manual for RocketCineX at the moment because it evolving with user feedback. As soon as the feature requests slow down, we'll do a manual.

Trust me, I've been here for quite a while and long enough to know how things work. However, I guess I just feel it is a reasonable request to get a more official list of features especially on new products. I've read part of the long thread on the RedRocket but wouldn't it be easier to put a new product page on red.com that has a features list? Kinda like they did with Epic, Scarlet and RedRay. That's all I'm asking for and I don't think it's unreasonable.

Mike, Point taken. Sometime I wished the same too. Lim
