  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Redrock microMatteBox Red Bundle - pics

Brian, will there be 15mm/100mm spaced "studio rods" support for the swing/away?
I only saw 19mm/100 and 15mm 60mm spaced sizes compatible on the webpage.
I'm afraid I know the answer...but thought I'd ask:-(

It's possible we'll add that option later - it's 15mm/60mm and 19mm for now

Will it take a lens with a 150mm front?
 
clearlighter - the rear element supports up to 144mm. It's possible you could remove that element, but haven't tested it yet. 140mm was about the biggest element we could find that was generally in use (panavision lenses)

You people have NO idea how sick this thing is in person. It should be priced no lower than 2499.99 fully outfitted.

The entire build is no less than spectacular and I can't wait to grab mines!

Anyone who's on the waiting list already, congrats! Especially to the first fifty. The wait was DEFINITELY worth it!

And, the Red Knobs walk all over the blue ones.

Brian, one question, nonetheless. While the accented knobs in red are cool, I really would prefer black ones. Especially when the wings / french flag are not on there I am afraid of reflections from the red knobs in car windows, etc.

A friend of mine has all Arri stuff and everything on there is black - and that makes perfect sense. Sure, we can color the knobs ourself but that will not be as durable as the original coloring.

Yup. Cameras are not the place for bling!

Perhaps you could make one with rows of flashing LEDs for the people who don't get it. :)
 
Dear Brian,

Will it be possible to only buy the side flags (as accessories) for the matteboxes we already own?

I should have been clear we are offering a choice of three colors: blue, red, and black for the knobs/accents. Everyone has an opinion on style and function, so choose the one that works for you

Medvoym - We will be offering a separate flag bundle (including french flag). We haven't tested the flags with other matte boxes, but they are pretty standard so I would imagine that would be fine

The Red package on the last email was $795 if I recall correctly, I presume that's what is pictured here.
