  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedRelay.net

Chris,

Did you edit that?

That was really fucking awesome man

I hope a tradition begins and every 3-5 months, somebody cuts and releases a comp reel like this. It really brings the community aspect of this revolution full circle

Thanks- yes I did.

I really like what you did before, Richard. I've had this song in my head since I saw yours and I had to take advantage of the recent influx of clips as well as a few you didn't use last time. I didn't master this in 720p- just 480p then down to 405p to take the edge off some of the upresing since I only envisioned the file ever living on the homepage in that smaller viewing area.

Now that I've done mine, maybe another will step up next time. I keep thinking of songs like "Seein' Red" by Unwritten Law, "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva, or "Woman (Mstrkrft Remix)" by Wolfbmother for the next one. Maybe I'll do another cut soon and make it more upbeat. Or... perhaps you have the time?

I'm so ready to shoot on the Red. I want to shoot a music video more than anything. I love the MHD channel late at night when it's just constant music videos. Mmm... tasty.

Nice mix, man.

Top stats for the first half of February. Moving pictures only- no DPX, TFF files included in this count.

Code:
Rank Downloads Name Clip
01) 2895 Downloads Alex Montoya Chico Majo
02) 1598 Downloads Poi Boy Prod. Slow Surf
03) 1443 Downloads Tonaci Tran Bike Prores 2k
04) 1247 Downloads Ian Bloom Brooklyn Grit (Regraded)
05) 944 Downloads Richard Darge Demo Reel 1080p
06) 837 Downloads Richard Darge Treedrum
07) 702 Downloads Jim Arthurs Martial Arts Medium
08) 460 Downloads Jim Arthurs Martial Arts Wide
09)	517 Downloads Richard Darge Demo Reel 720p
10) 354 Downloads Jim Arthurs Martial Arts Handheld

Congrats to all of you for having footage people seem to not be able to get enough of. The oldest stuff in this group is the Martial Arts clips so those seem to have really stood out. I have a pretty good idea who is going to be the number 1 for the month- even through it hasn't released yet.

It's also worth noting that the biggest attraction according to this count is R3D files followed closely by 1080p QT files. This may help you make your decision on what resolutions and versions you may want to include in your uploading.

Thanks again to everyone for being patient and helpful with this project.

RedRelay is currently down for me...

BTW, I have an idea [yeah, no sleep at all :)].

Why don't you try and switch RedRelay to P2P torrent downloading?

It will save a lot of bandwidth for your central site.

And also, the .R3Ds can be seeded by the owners themselves - which also saves space.

I only recently noticed that RED themselves are using torrent downloads in the "Shot on RED" section...

Smart people. ;)

We have already discussed at length why bit torrent is inefficient for what we are trying to do- and in many ways counter productive. I appreciate the thought though.

Still down...

Looking for footage to play with PP CS4 and test out system specs before I order Scarlet and new PC later this year. When will it be back?
