  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDRAY Comments

Drive up to four 1080p monitors at once - then I also see a ton of these being used at trade shows, and for point of purchase displays :yesnod:
 
1. I always get confused with MB/s and Mbit/s, how big would a 1 hour 4k 2.5MB/s file be?
2. Redcine X will be able to output the new .red files, will redcine-x be able to ingest other file formats besides r3d?
3. i know this is early days, but what sort of monetization plans are there for content owners or is this decided upon on a case by case method?

But honestly, I knew this is where you guys were taking things for a couple years now. Doesn't mean I'm not thrilled for the confirmation though. ;) Absolutely outstanding work, gentlemen.
 
Encoding RED (4k UHD @2.5MB/s) is done in REDCINE-X Pro and you can use your GPU!

Does this mean debayering can be done with a GPU now????
 
Wow, truly incredible. Really intrigued by the .RED format. Are you working Adobe and others on this at all, in other words, will we eventually be able to export to .RED straight from our editing programs...

Yep, its RED for playback and R3D in camera. But who knows, maybe we will see RED in camera via module or the new Dragon chipset later.

So? :) What about ODEMAX... this seems to be coming totally out of the blue? or am I just badly "underinformed" about it?

But maybe the starting year 2007 should get us thinking ;)
