  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Please post your display mfg/model and any pertinent information that works with your REDRAY here.

I know that this area is like a Dead Zone but someone must have a REDRAY that works with a 4K display.

I for one lucked out with the Sony PVM X300.

Just as well, the price on that was $12K USD :P
 
What issue are you having.

I have a Panasonic 4K/60 4:4:4 6G, Sharp 4K/60 4:4:4 6G and a Vizio 4K/60 4:2:0 3G display that all work. Plus numerous Dell 4K/30 3G displays that work.

Havent tried anything other than the Sony PVM X300.

Issue is I would like to buy something that at least works.

The Sony just didnt kick in at all using REDRAY.

In HD mode it did.

Specific models?

Work with other options e.g. nMP, UltraStudio4K...
 
Works fine with Asus PQ321
With Seiko the only way to get it to work was with a HDMI extender... but then it worked ok.
 
The range Im looking for is anything 50" and up.

It will double as a 4K display off the Black Magic UltraStudio 4K box.

I have to get a Costco card in order to buy anything from them :P
 
I've found that most all HDMI 1.4 UHD displays work pretty well. A few have some sync issues -- like the SEIKI 39 and 50 inch models. And that can usually be cleared up by running the signal through a booster or HDBASE-T transcoder or whatnot. Those displays are shit anyway.

Some of the newer HDMI 2.0 AV Receivers and projectors don't play nice with the REDRAY. As far as I can tell by pulling EDID data from the REDRAY, is that the EDID tables are incomplete so some displays or other hardware just don't know what to do and are not dynamic enough to adapt or take the level of control needed to make it work. But for the most part, if you plug the REDRAY directly into a 4K UHD TV, it's going to work just fine.
 
Jeff any input as to why an expensive Sony PVM X300 didnt work with the 4K Single HDMI port of the REDRAY unit?

Did I need to test the BVM (add another 10K to the PVM)?

Sadly I agree but I spent too much company resources to give up on this.

We just want a 4K player that we can use to playback during special events.

Ultimately a projector is the end result but if we cant get a decent display over 55" to work....
 
Add Sony LED 4K Ultra HD X830B in this list.

We just picked one up, tested and running 4K REDRAY feed.

Next test is the Black Magic UltraStudio 4K in studio.
 
Forgot to add the LG 31MU97 works like a charm but needs some calibrating.
