Wondering if anybody else was having an issue with the REDMAG 1.8 USB 3.0 shutting down the USB ports on their MacBook Pros. I used it last night to get some footage off and it worked fine running off just the USB cable. This morning I tried again and it's giving me an error message where the laptop is shutting down the USB ports because the device is drawing too much power. I'm running a 15" Retina MBP and plugged in both the AC USB adapter cable and the regular AC adapter cable and nothing worked. Any thoughts?

Red currently has said not to use the power adapter on USB 3 Redstation Minis. Oddly enough, I think they still sell the adapters and it still comes with the drives when new. Perhaps a RED Team tech can chime in (although it is Saturday).

Try changing your USB cable - I had the same thing once.
