Hi,

I recently discovered that there is a plug-in to enable working with R3D files natively in Premiere CS4 ("REDCODE for CS4 Installer").

This appears to have been taken down. If anyone knows if it is still up somewhere, or if they have it and could potentially send it to me, I would be greatly appreciative.

Many thanks

I may have the files for CS6, not sure that would help. It only worked for M or MX R3D files. Dragon and beyond required CC. So a CS4 version would only work for older R3D camera files as well. If so, just let me know and I will try to upload them somewhere. What camera type files do you have?

Don't know if there would be any hope of that working with anything modern color workflow related. CS4 was released in 2008.

Really though, the best workflow you want is to export a TIF or other that goes into Adobe. Just a better workflow and still metadata driven if you want to work in ACR or Lightroom for stills or whatever.

Hi Ryan,

Many thanks.

I only have CS4 so I'm guessing it won't work (if it's convenient for you to send it over I can always try and it would be hugely appreciated).

I have the old Scarlet, though am planning to upgrade next year.

I had been paying the annual subscription for Premiere, which has been a waste of money due to very long gaps between projects, so have been thinking about reverting to the copy of CS4 that I have, still wanting to edit natively. I'm guessing I might have to bite the bullet and keep the subscription since newer camera files don't seem to work, and transcoding etc. in CS4 is probably not worth it.
