  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Professional...

Same.. I thought it was going to be a real show stopper too about a special build, Dragon, some cool camera update modification, release dates for X
or even about pl..... GAG!.. muffle!... cough.... choke!.... :)))))))

But still, while the boys are given cool stuff out for free, lets take it with open arms and say a huge thanks. I'm always grateful about RCX updates.

I almost feel like it was supposed to be something else, but in last minutes they pulled the plug... still great.
Solid Epic X update (dates, stages) is what's really needed, please share that with us if you can.

Some more original RCX builds still to come.

Thanks Deanan (and further thanks for all you do). Will we find reasons to run these in concert, or do you perceive people picking one or the other (that is to say, it appears that Pro is as capable and then some as vanilla... why keep vanilla?)? :)

REDCINE-X PROFESSIONAL Build 1 PREVIEW RELEASE

Jim

THANK YOU!

This couldn't have come at a better time. You guys just rock.

As an Indie movie-maker, I feel like my technical needs are quality acquisition, (Epic - check) quality post tools (Redcine Pro - check), and affordable exhibition (Red Ray - waiting).

Playing with it and it definitely feels more responsive...great job and thanks!

I'm excited to see what sort of secondary capability it will have...

Yes... and REDCINE-X will always be only for RED files. If you want something similar for a different camera, just contact the manufacture and request it. :-)

Jim

I think his question probably was more based on the need to combine material from a RED cam with other stuff.

If anybody doesn't know how to add more video tracks, all you do is right click on V1 (video1) in the timeline and click add track. Just in case anybody was lost like I was.

I've only had a quick play with the Windows 64-bit version but already it feels much more responsive than builds of REDCINE-X. I do have a request for the installer: please allow for the option to choose where the files install. Having fun, thanks!

I called Sony but they didn't seem to understand my request...

Ever looked at licensing HDCAM formats / codecs? No matter what the Sony guys said to me, all I heard was "Kneel before Zod."

Crap...on my PC at work, RCX Pro crashes...right before that it gives me a warning because my ATI driver is old...which it has to be for my 3D animation. Oh well, I can only use this at home until we upgrade our Maya and I can update my graphics driver... :/

Weird. I'm running it on a very old macbook pro (5 years) at work and having 3 4K files playback in realtime, no crash yet. And I only have it because it is the only way I still have a way to render Realflow meshes.
