  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Professional Update... Build 9 Beta.

HDRx magic motion in Resolve as a plugin should be available!!!... for free ;)

HDRx is useless if a good motion blending implementation in 3rd party software is not possible. Magic motion is the best way of doing it I've seen.

Any news?

Thanks

Pat

... I second this. I see a lot of new implementations but not much consolidation of what's already there.

So, will other software like Nucoda, Adobe Davinci, Scratch , Flame, Smoke also be sent an SDK that enables the option off using 6 rockets.

I think this is a necessary step cause off course, we want to be able to do multicams and multicam s3d in the very near future!!!! hopefully completely without any transcoding!!!

I have no knowledge of any PC motherboard that has 6 PCIe x8 slots + one more for a graphics card.
Does anybody here ever heard of such a beast?

EVGA SR-2
SR-3 will be with us shortly

Rob@Red : Do you guys ever rest ? :-)

Haha. Contact Apple. Good one. Could you elaborate further? Are they taking RED footage seriously this time around? Is Apple liaising with RED or did they just take the SDK?

I work on a 13" MBP and I am able to resize, however, after I toggle any window it looses the configuration I made to fit my screen, any way to fix this ?

I apologize if this has been asked before.

I have a 15" Macbook Pro for handling footage on the go. I noticed that the actual window for RCX is larger than the screen size and cannot be changed to fit. Has anyone else noticed this?

Marcos, the size and position of the main window is not currently saved between sessions.
This will be corrected in the next release.

Nik, we're working on reducing the app's minimum size so it fits on lower resolution screens.

On the stills export side.

Might it be possible in a future release to export 300dpi .tiff files from the r3d in future versions of RCX?

DPI is just a print ratio. It's pixel count that matters. Any file from HD upwards can be considered as 300dpi, as it depends on the size of the print.

Thanks! We're still working on a more general plugin type system. Once the details for that have been worked out, we will also announce info on any API/SDK type stuff

Glad to hear this Rob. I have been wondering about developing something myself, specifically to generate PDF shot log reports. It will be a job to learn lua (I presume lua will still be the scripting language used?), the ask hooks and programming in general but I am so desperate to be able to generate decent PDF logs for Epic footage like I used to be able to do with clipfinder for Red One. It's something I will work on in standby time on set but if you guys are planning it as an inbuilt feature then that would be great to know. Otherwise please bear in mind the hooks that might be needed to manipulate and export metadata and representative still frames for all clips, including file sizes, durations, entered metadata like shot, scene, take numbers and notes. Currently we can export metadata as CSV but it misses out a lot of key data I would like to include in my reports.

I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with down the road...

+1

I have been pondering this for the past couple of months! Learn to code or wait..learn to code or wait... I have so far decided to wait but any heads up from the RED Team would be great!

A couple of additional requests:
- PDF Contact Print sheets with the option to select thumbnail position offsets and start, middle and end frame.
- The ability to add Project, Client, Date and Notes info to the report sheets.

With what you geniuses have already done with RCX-Pro this can't be that tricky! Ha ha just kidding - I have no clue how easy or tricky this could be! :)

Thank you Team RED for this amazing kick ass app that REDcine-X Pro is today! The additional Tangent Wave support looks awesome and I cannot wait for next week when I can give it a spin!

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

All the best,

Yes.

I was just wanting to skip the Photshop step and wondering if it could be slightly sexier out of RCX.

Oh okay perfect! I just didn't know if anyone was aware of it yet. Thanks for the response!
