I need help learning REDCINE-X PRO to become faster at fixing the problems in the footage I capture: colors and selectively lifting details from shadows.
Also does anyone know how to crop for certain frame ratios or resolutions and how to fix frame leveling issues on the horizontal axis?

Love the R3D power but I am not good at using it.
People I work with often just expect Instagram 9:16 or 4:5 images or clips quickly and it takes me forever because I get caught into "color correcting" and dealing with file formats and sharing.
It's easier and faster to just film with an iPhone and AirDrop.
Super frustrating when put in that (unfair) context.

The stills I extract from the footage, never look good, even with the time-sink.
They certainly do not look like these amazing ones from the Red Solitary Series!

I am running REDCINE-X PRO (read the manual here) Build 60.3.11.

Computer: MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max 64 GB macOS Sonoma 14.2.1.
Camera: KOMODO running the latest 1.7.5 firmware at the time of this thread.
Camera Settings: Output Color Space Rec709, 6K 17.9, 24 FPS on 24 FPS, R3D, HQ.
Lenses: RF 16mm F2.8 or 50mm F1.8 lens.
Because I suck at pulling focus while filming athletes, I don't take my SIGMA 18-35 mm T2 Cine Lens, which I really prefer the look (IQ and colors) from.

Here's a cropping Tutorial I did a while back

Thank you. How may I move the red outline to position it elsewhere to crop to a different part of the frame please?

I see the Origin X and Origin X fields and I am hoping that they allow precise positioning but how does one determine the coordinates?
The cursor does not show them when hovering the mouse. And there is no scale on the X or Y axis like you'd find in Adobe Software for photography.

Steven,

I'm on a tablet now but I believe you hold down either the " SHIFT" or "CTRL" button and drag the red box from the center of the box and to whatever part of the image you wanted. Also if you chose to select to lock the Aspect Ratio, no matter how large or small you expand or shrink the red box it will maintain that Aspect Ratio. I did another post with a more detailed Cropping Tutorial but due to the new forum redo I couldn't seem to find it. If I do I will post it here.
